Just added the bow tie Puddle lights to my '24 Silverado 3500. Quick & easy lighting upgrade! Only issue I had was they didn't work at first...I had to go into settings under Vehicle>Lighting>Vehicle Locator Lights (set to on). Then they worked as they should. Cool, simple upgrade. Thanks for the idea. Being subscribed to your channel could cause my upgrade total to increase...😎

Amazon has the AT4 version. They are cheapo add ons that go on the inside of the doors. You can also get flaming skulls and other designs

@@johnspurrier0001 They came from the factory. I had them on my 2019 1500 Denali also but they are different. The 1500 they went front to back as they came from under the truck. They also had a big button on the very end that would make them come farther back so you could use it to step up to see in the bed. The boards on the 2500HD fold down but the really cool thing are the LEDs under when you unlock the vehicle. All in all it's just one more thing that could break but for now I really like them tucked away.

I was wondering how bright the light is on the pavement..or is it just lighting up GMC.....I replaced my license plate tags lights with LEDs...took two mins..... Hello Don new subscriber here, I like you channel I just purchased a 2022 Sierra SLT but the puddle lights won't come on, I did notice they did for like 3 seconds but turned off and wont stay on. I can't find anything that highlights on this specific. Any suggestions? I am going to the dealership in a few weeks to pick up my license plates if I dont have it figured out by then I'll have them look into it.

Welcome to the channel. Couple things… it has to be dark enough for the ambient light sensor on your dash to think it should have them even work. You can cover it with something to block the light from outside and perform some testing. Also in the settings menu, look at the vehicle’s lighting options and see if there is a setting there. I can’t remember off the top of my head

Thanks! I have 2 ideas : The ambient light sensor on the dash has to detect it is dark enough out to warrant turning them on. The other is that it might be a setting in your vehicle settings menu.

Hey Don, I really like your videos and a little humor! My 2023 Sierra SLT puddle lights only power up during side mirror extension and retraction (2-3 secs). The concept of puddle lights seem pointless unless the duration can be extended. Have you heard if that is possible?

All of newer fill tubes are designed to be syphon proof. You have an adapter that is required when filling with a gas can

They would need to have the custom adapter tube with them. Not something most people would have in their pocket or on a keychain. But now that I’ve said it, there is probably someone out there

Love the GMC logo lights. I have a question, why is my 2022 Denali 2500 not equipped with a manual light switch to illuminate the area in the bed? When I open the tailgate at night to load items ,I cant see unless I turn on the rear loading lights by using switch on the dash. I do have a bed cover . If a switch is available through GM it would make for a good video. Great videos Don.

I've always thought the same thing. I don't want to have to clime in the cab to switch on the light when coming up to load or unload something from the bed. There should be an option to switch the lights on from the bed.

I saw your video on turning all the rear casting lights on when in reverse. Have you done any modifications that either put a switch in the bed to turn the cargo lamps on and off…or turning them all on when the tailgate is opened?

Mine are super bright. The camera may make them pop a little more. Use your phone camera and see if you get the same effect?

I don't know of a mod at the moment for that. One could rewire them completely and tie them into the running lights or something. Also I am not sure if law enforcement would like the words GMC being projected on the road while in motion. It might be a distraction to others. I really don't know....

I have a 6” lift would the logo still be clear enough to be seen being that high up ??

I think it would be okay since mine is about 3” up from a Denali or SLT. 2” AT4 lift + 1” suspension changes = 3”. Of course I don’t know for sure. If I remember I will drive up on a 3” block and see if the logo looks out of focus

Love these so much! I added a set to my 22 AT4 only to realize my puddle lights aren’t working correctly. When the truck is unlocked, the puddle lights come on and blip for two seconds before turning off while the rest of the approach lighting functions fine. Both the factory lamps and the GMC emblem lamps do this and I’ve tried every option in settings to see if anything could be messing with them. Anyone have any ideas? I’m losing my sanity.

I can’t remember the menu options in the settings, but maybe check there and see if there is a timer to adjust. I am not in my truck to check while commenting on this

They will only operate on and off the same way that the puddle lamps do. You could do a wiring mod I suppose with your DRLs but I haven’t explored that idea

In the video it was on for a long time. Mine is about two seconds, just enough time for the side mirror to deploy.

It’s cool and all but they didn’t seem very bright from the video. Puddle lights should illuminate the area outside your door so you don’t step in a puddle. Just my opinion. And they might be brighter than they appeared in the video. Just a matter of personal preference. As always, everyone is welcome to do what they want with their vehicles as long except squatting. That’s just dumb. 🤣

They don’t and won’t illuminate as bright as the puddle lights. Of you have illuminated running boards, you can have the best of both options

It’s not going to be the mod for everyone. I have lights built into my running boards now so puddle lights are not crucial

I thought the same thing at first. I really like the GMC logo, but was disappointed that it didn't give out more light. Adding lights to my running boards I think will do the trick.
