I have such respect for Greg Dulli & the Whigs. They were the Litmus test when signed by Sub Pop Records in the early 90's. If you listen to the interview at the end, you hear they were influenced by some great talented R&B singers, & it reflects on their sound. Some years back I landed The Gentlemen LP; a copy made in Germany, which just reinforced how super talented these guys are.

Classic band and lineup. This must’ve been one of Steve’s last shows with the band. Too bad Rick doesn’t seem interested in making music any longer

Rick does but, alas, he has problems, demons both Greg and John beat. Which is a total shame, Rick had such a distinctive sound like nobody else in a sea of as-ran sounding guitarists, he had such an amazing chunky bright sound. He’s truly brilliant, alas brilliance comes with sometimes a pain one can’t satiate.

Playing in front of thousands to playing in front of hundreds. The life of a great band. The young rule with few exceptions.

A band who I’ve followed now for almost 25 years, simply because I thought the cover of Gentleman was hilarious.

Bassist seems like a reluctant lead singer on the Who do you Love bit. I guess Dulli needed a bit of a break.

I'm just rediscovering this band and after watching this video I can't help but Wonder if Paul Leary would have been a nice addition. They're Kick-Ass as is but Paul would have fit right in.
