Yeah he'll probably end up selling them too in an effort to save them and himself/his wife and younger children + potential bread earners aka boys. I mean, it's horrid stuff but people lose their humanity during times of prolonged severe famine and deprivation, then you also have had the unending turmoil for decades now. Yeah, I mean, it's just screwed and the average person lacks much control or accountability over their own and loved ones' survival right now. He's making the necessary sacrifices and desperate caring parent would right now but like I said, it's not going to be a freely made choice after he's literally sacrificed everything he possibly can for his girls, it's admirable and heartbreaking as a mom. I can't imagine selling my children, my daughters, bc it'd give them a slightly better chance of survival (they were paid for so the buyer will hopefully want to ensure the life and value of his investment...) compared to remaining with their family. But it's not a black and white issue when there's material scarcity and an unstable ruthless social environment and governing force. I rush I had practical solutions for those suffering right now but unfortunately none of us do except a select few
I'm from Nigeria and prices have doubled and in some cases tripled in the past 6 months, oil price is a record high too(though still way cheaper than in the US), some say it's due to pandemic or corruption, but inflation did not just affect Afghanistan only, hope it gets better for everyone

It doesn't really make sense for the U.S.A to help their enemies. Why would anyone help the Taliban? It sends a poor message. Perhaps China will help though because they've been great with foreign lending to developing countries. Still though, for people to say "they did this themselves" is very cruel. We don't know the lived experiences of Afghanis and shouldn't judge them. Famine and poverty are terrible for anyone and everyone. My heart goes out to them. Generating unrest, and rebel elements is one of the, if not the core reason for putting sanctions.
