Only this game does a disservice to ancient Caledonians, when Agricola invaded Scotland he had Germanic Tungri and Batavi soldiers with him to fight the Celtic warriors of Scotland, and they had chariots, and didn't were animals skins, this game needs to be redone.

I just played through this game last night for my first time. And I had no idea this masterpiece even existed. This game is beautiful and I loved the story. 10 years old and its graphics absolutely shit on alot of new games today. I also heard that they're making a ryse 2 and it may launch next year. Fun fact, a Roman legion was actually completely wiped out in Scotland and their eagle was never recovered. The Antonine wall in Scotland marked the most Northern part of the empire. Also, Rome while is held an empire during the time of Julius Caesar, it wasn't actually classified as an empire and they didn't have an emperor or empress. As the empire at the time was ruled by the senate, it was classed as the Republic of Rome. Julius's nephew, Augustus (Gaius Julius Caesar Octavius) was the first true emperor of Rome, turning the Republic into the Empire.

There is a myth that the 9th legion disappeared in Caledonia, but that total rubbish as there is historical evidence that the 9th legion was redeployed to the middle east. Hadrians Wall simply marks the boundary of the Empire, nothing more. Scotland has nothing to offer, if the Romans truly wanted it, they would have sent legions after legions to conquer it.
