Anyone who’s actually played BF1942 knows that historical accuracy has been relatively unimportant to Dice for almost 20 years. Battlefield is Sgt. Rock, not Band of Brothers. The Japanese assault class used the STG way back then too.

Stg's are ok because that is a German Weapon and Germany was a very good Allie to Japan. But hearing Women voices, using all types of weapons that weren't even used in the Pacific is kinda annoying

Such concerns are just far from a hallmark of the series, which is ironic because in many ways in a broader sense it mimics the way war actually works more accurately than most of its FPS peers. But it sort of focuses on the feeling of "playing" war rather than actually fighting in one. Ultimately it would be the modders and developers inspired by Battlefield that would spin their yearning for more accuracy into incredible products such as Forgotten Hope, Project Reality, Squad, Hell Let Loose, and the like. From what I can recall, DICE has always always always left it to them (except for a semi-realism mode they added to BF1) and instead prioritized creating a very stylized representation of the conflict in question. A place where grown men can virtually fulfill the wildest, and retrospectively most morose fantasies of their childhood. In this way, at it's best, Battlefield is gaming at its best. And it's not because it's realistic, its because it's fantasy fulfillment. And how long have brothers played war with their sisters? Since well, well before BFV came out. DICE surely thought this all out before releasing the game. I'm sure there are people there who are paid to do just so. In the end, you still don't have to agree with it, but I believe that this is the design philosophy- or whatever you want to call it- behind their decisions on BFV.

For the people bitching about the stg44 literally every battlefield has done that with weapons. In bf4 i'm pretty sure average Americans units dont use ak12s and rpk's and average Russians units dont use scars and m249s . In bf1 the hellrigle weapons is used by almost every player and the automatic trench didn't even get used during the war because it hit docks in early 1919.

Sure women didn't fight in WW2 but nether did I...but when I play a WW2 Game somehow I want to experience it in an abstract way and when a woman plays such a game, it's understandable when she wants to play in a role of a woman. And the thing with german guns in the japanese army...I think when it wasn't this way the gameplay would suffer a lot, mostly in the competitive community. Imagine you want to play competitive and in both teams you have players who are comfortable with the same weapon. It's not that I think BF5 is perfekt but the real thing that is missing, ist the war atmosphere as we know from BF1 or BF4 e.g.

it's so strange to know that the missions in ww2 games are never set from the axis perspective. there were good men fighting for their country and not because of politics. they should focus on that. at the same time, no credit should be given to politics of any form whether it be Imperialism, Communism, Capitalism or Fascism. the Age of Empires franchise has campaigns based on figures who would otherwise be remembered as the bad guys in history and we get to play as them because game makers knew they had good sides, and it was thus a huge success. why can't WW2 based games follow the same?
