The best way to control beavers is to dig a channel through the dam. Then place a perforated metal culvert in the channel extending maybe 20 feet in front and behind the dam. The beavers cannot hear the running water and will not try to plug up the culvert !! Try it, it works great !!

@@AFHProjects It was about 100 years ago I think, these guys from England, I think the royal society, went to Canada to study the beaver, they were convinced beavers were the smartest animals in the world, because of how well they built, and chose the locations for their damns, they were so disappointed when they figured out the beavers weren't that smart, it's all instinct. I have a golf course near my home and a beaver has moved in to one of the water hazards and built a lodge. The beaver is trying to dam the thing up by clogging the drain with various pieces of trash left on the course by golfers. The golf course employees must remove the stuff regularely, but they can't remove the beaver lodge, because they are a protected animal. I'm rooting for the beaver, obviously.
