Towards the end of the song, she is supposed to belt an A5 (almost in the Whistle register). In most of her live performances of the song, she skipped over this part or lowered the key. Now, however, she hits (and sustains) the note (and higher ones) like it's nothing.

As a Henderson, I'll have to respectfully disagree. Jennifer is talented, yes, but all I hear in this particular performance is a lot of holler and shout. Look up Yolanda Adams version at the White House and she runs circles around JHud without being over the top. Same goes to whatever JHud did with I am Changing from Dreamgirls. Nowhere near the original from Jennifer Holiday. Sorry. To my ears, JHud is grossly overrated. She can sing, definitely, just not to the level that people want to put her in. To each their own.
