That tackle at 6:33 would get you 8 weeks in 2023 but here they praised it. 😂

27:49 that was MILES over the line. Also looks like another questionable call in 4th quarter calling Burton's shot a point. The AFL really tried their hardest to screw Adelaide over this game (adding to the fact it was their home game played at the MCG)

Wow, insane momentum swings, highest echelon of finals scoring from both sides, fantastic crowd energy right the way through. How could you not enjoy a spectacle like that though? Outside the obvious of course. Highest respect for all combatants involved

Soccer is the greatest and by far the most important sport on Earth and is massive in over 240 countries. Soccer is the universal language that every nation on this planet loves. Afl is massive in 4 out of 6 Australian states. Still and always will be a minority sport in Qld and NSW. Soccer will be the number 1 sport in Australia by 2050 and every suburb will love soccer and every suburb will have its own soccer club sfn

@@mufc510 every suburb will love soccer and have its own soccer club? LOL. What kind of fantasy world are you living in you muppet?? And it won’t be a minority sport in NSW and QLD for much longer, it has grown quite rapidly in the last couple of years and it will continue to do so in the future. Soccer is a little virgin’s game played by men with vaginas that kiss their dads on the lips < Aussie Rules is a real man’s sport for the greatest of modern gladiators who don’t act like they’ve had their leg cut off without an anaesthetic to get a free kick or opponent carded.

very underrated final... a crazy game in which both sides were in a position to run away with it

In 2005, after World Cup qualification and the launch of the A League, some people were militantly convinced that soccer was set to take over Australia. Almost 20 years on, it’s never been more irrelevant. Are you just a bit salty?

I remember this game vividly. Melbourne supporters were booing at quarter time because Adelaide was up by 40. Then Melbourne came back and seemed destined to win. The roar from the crowd in the 2nd and 3rd quarters was insane! Adelaide deserved it though. Were just better for longer.

@@jabby5919 that’s complete rubbish. Like I get the contract but it shouldn’t have been played at the mcg if the interstate team has earned the right for a home final and is playing against a Melbourne based club
@darrenmiles-morland80387 жыл бұрын
A great game, and even though Adelaide ended up winning there is no way known that they should've had to host their home final against Melbourne at the MCG. What a farce, all because there was a stupid contractual agreement at the time between the AFL and the MCC which stated that at least one final per week had to be played at the MCG. Thank goodness that this contractual agreement was ditched, and that teams from interstate can now rightfully host finals on their home ground whenever they earn the right to do so. It's time to do it for the Grand Final too if the AFL seriously considers itself to be a truly national competition.

That contractual arrangement was ridiculous especially for interstate teams. I believe it truly cost Brisbane in 2004 having to play Geelong at the MCG after winning there qualifying final. Considering they ran out of legs in the last quarter and abit in the GF. From a Port Adelaide supporter
