Collingwood has once again stood up when it mattered, withstanding an outstanding Sam Reid display to defeat a dogged Sydney by seven points at the SCG on Friday night.
Reid booted six goals in an exceptional performance and was awarded the Goodes O'Loughlin Medal, while Pies skipper Scott Pendlebury delivered another vintage outing to continue what has been another fine season.
The Magpies took advantage of the absence of Swans midfield duo Josh Kennedy (left knee) and George Hewett (concussion) in the final term, stringing together their seventh-straight win, 11.14 (80) to 11.7 (73).

He did run way too far. But the umpires are supposed to give that kind of stuff more leeway if the player is about to take a shot at goal. That's across the whole competition. And the only bias the media has is against good refing. And the whole competition cops the brunt of that.

AzzaMATE that was directed at certain people constantly hating in the comments on collingwood losses, not Sydney or the fans. Sydney did a great job and were all over us, but we brought the pressure in the end and that rampe screwed it up for yous in the last minutes. It was wet and ugly andddd at Sydney’s home ground, of course we are going to be excited about the win. Doing better than the reigning premiers right now, if we had any more time we would have won the granny, but that doesn’t matter.

Buddy's becoming a problem for his team. You can tell he views himself as better than all the rest. He doesn't celebrate with Reid for his five goals and constantly yells at his teammates for not kicking to him. When he gives away obvious free kicks (that he does constantly) he whinges at the umpires. His time is well past him and he needs to consider retirement to let Sydney move on with their progression.
