I saw my first AFL games the weekend after this (including the Geelong v West Coast game mentioned), on a trip to Australia. I kept an interest in the game, and had to pick a team. I felt picking Geelong would be gloryhunting, and picking Collingwood, who I'd nominally supported in a great game the previous day, would be like choosing Man Utd. I opted for Richmond, partly because they were almost comically bad at times. I had a good few years wondering why I'd not thought about it more, but things have certainly changed now.
