The Right Cut: A Barber Builds a Movement

William learned to cut hair while incarcerated. Once released, he made a plan to change his life and be a positive impact on his community by bringing his new skill to the underserved. But Iowa law made it illegal to operate a mobile barbershop. William worked with AFP-IA to successfully lobby the legislature to remove this barrier to opportunity and get Kut Kings mobile barbershop on the road.

Congratulations! I've been trying to do this since 1990 in Kentucky. Tried this again in 2016 and 2018. Still, no with no good reason why from the state board. I purchased my RV 2018 and will be finished with the remodeling in September 2020. Even retired from 22 years of serving in law enforcement in the state. .

Awesome story, but overlooks the fact that the original law never should have been written in the first place. Seriously, sometimes I think we need to force legislatures to justify every single law on the books every year, and if they cannot do so the law is automatically revoked. And if it takes longer than a year to justify all the laws that exist, clearly there are too many laws. People should be free to do whatever they please, with only violationd of other people's rights being the limiting factor. You don't need 10,000 pages of laws to enforce that.

How a reg like that survived a constitutional challenge (Iowa State Constitution) I'll never know. Don't let this happen again. Read those referendums carefully. Don't let a reporter tell you what a bill is, read it for yourself. If it looks like incomprehensible gibberish , it probably is and you call them on it.
