Additional background for those that aren't from Serbia and don't listen to the mind-melting indoctrination that is done by the alleged media on RTS 1, Pink and Happy TV: The students basically as mentioned wanted a few things to be done, one of them is the release of the COMPLETE documentation on who worked on the renovation of the Train station along with money transactions for said renovations. The prosecution of said actors that were at fault for the collapse of the canopy. The release of the protestors that were arrested between the time of the collapse of the canopy at the station and further onwards. The prosecution of those that attacked the protestors (including the imbecile that ran over a few of them during a protest). I might have missed some demands. Anyways, the protests were supported by a lot of schools (including university faculty) but the students made clear that they aren't affiliated with any political party (specifically the pathetically ineffective opposition)... so when our Supreme Leader Aleksandar Vucic addressed this situation in one of his every day monologues on his sham of a tv station called RTS 1 and claimed that the students were paid by foreign actors and incentivized by the opposition and additionally said that the students were manipulated by their teachers calling them "pedophiles for using them for political gain" (which is kind of stupid because the students of the Uni and the students from high school that are mostly preset ARE of legal age (18 and onwards) or something like that, the students got even more galvanized and now we are at around 100 000 students at the protests. Funny thing is that they don't even wanna talk to Vucic BUT the institutions. They are completely disregarding him and focusing on the institutions to do their jobs. People have constantly said that the younger generations here are apolitical but the fact that they managed to organize themselves without a clear leader speaks volumes on how they are just fed up with everything. Us older folks like to talk and brag how we participated during the overthrow of Milosevic (even though we only just changed the name of the Supreme Leader) but nowadays the same people are just cursing the students for closing down the center of the city and being a "nuisance". The future belongs to the youth and not the past.
