If I ever do get one I'll probably hug it more than anything, and maybe change the clothes. Because my reason is for comfort over losing the only baby I'd ever have, I'd just enjoy it privately for that purpose. I'd live one with silicon because of the softness of the baby. I do have a cuddle baby from Wal-Mart, easy on the budget and it is cuddly, my goal is to get 1 silicone baby, just 1. 😇🇨🇦😢😊

What a great topic to chat about! I have gotten this question before a few times over the years and I think my answer has changed from time to time and depending on what doll I have at the time. When I had Romie Strydom babies in my nursery, I felt that they were more delicate and couldn't handle them as much and also because they were the most expensive dolls I have ever owned that I was leery of over handling them, but with Claire's babies, they just seem less delicate to me and I have more confidence to handle them regularly without fear of something happening to them, but I still feel super cautious with Monroe because I just don't want anything to ever happen to her, I just love her so much! So it really depends because I do handle her regularly yet still super careful with her. I hope that makes sense. As much as I would love to think I could bring her to a doll show to share her, I am also super OCD about people handling my dolls and I would feel really tense if people would want to touch/hold her as I would expect her being one of Claire's newest dolls that people would really want to get a good squeeze of her silicone, and I'm not sure how I would handle that, so not sure if I go to ROSE next year if I will bring her, you know?! It is something that most of us Collectors Experience when we Invest so much Financially and Emotionally into Our Special Silicone Dolls. I am extra Careful with Laila (Daniyah by Claire Taylor) but at the time I also try my best to really Enjoy her. I Love that Laila's Silicone is Very Soft but yet it is Very Durable so that takes away some of My Worries. Great Topic! Hugs :-)

A lady show us on utubes that she puts a little plastic bag on one hand, puts that sleeve and after taking off that bag, she puts it to the other hand . All sleeves slides soo easy, it can help you!!

Great topic! I'm really careful with my silicone dolls too, especially with their hair as it tends to pull out easier than a reborn's. A trick I use for dressing my silicones is, I take a sandwich baggie, sprinkle a bit of baby cornstarch powder inside, shake it around until it coats the inside, then place the baggie over the arms or legs & push the sleeves or pants legs over the baggie. The baggie then slips right off afterwards, and I just brush the excess powder off the silicone with a soft brush. Baby Lynn is really, really cute. She looks so lifelike! Great topic! That's why I enjoy my PG & AD Dolls so much ;-)) They're super cute, affordable, very easy to manage ( I can take them everywhere! ) and fun to dress with real baby clothes ... Same sweetness but ... stressless! ^_^ LOVE THEM! I have a few precious reborns too, but I'm always afraid of damaging them (air dry paints) ... Some of my babies are cuddle babies but I have one it's my reborn Joseph 3 months I am afraid I could hurt him it's ridiculous but I love him so much I me afraid of silicon baby I don't know why but I love to change Joseph awake every day he is a easy baby but my little bouddha nobody could touch him I am afraid to hurt him I love his hair is body everything in him is special hugs

I know exactly what you mean.Every time I dress my baby, I get very nervous.Especially the full body ones.Cloth bodies one's I enjoy more because they are like reborns to me and most of the time their not as heavy.Very easy to dress.I prefer cloth bodies over full bodies.I hate the heaviness of them.But in saying that, I will buy another one in the near future.Right now im very content in the one I have.

You were a beautiful baby. I would not be able to put her down, or any of Andrea's babies for that matter. I look at it like heirloom China, Crystal and silver I have. I saved it, pampered it, and never used it. My husband would always try to get me to use it for holidays. Never, I said. My husband passed at the young age of 53 and it never was set on our table. Now what was I saving it for? He was the one I would loved to have shared it with. Half was from his family and half from mine. Fourteen years after his passing, I drink out of Waterford goblets, butter my bread with silver and hand wash my China. Don't save today for tomorrow may never come. My dolls are not that quality but I allow my 3 year old grandson and 12 year old granddaughter to play with them (carefully of course). They enjoy it and I love the role playing they do. Memories are more important to me now. In your case tho, it is your portrait baby. I might not let anyone touch her but myself. But I would love on her constantly. Good luck my dear she is spectacular.

I truly feel the same way with even my vinyl dolls. I have always washed my hands first and Even my granddaughter had to be sitting after her hands were washed. No eating or drinking while holding or hanging their clothes. I would probably be worse if I were to get my dream silicon baby.

I try not to powder my dolls unless I absolutely have to. I recently did get a Silicone Finishing Powder from www.weebabiesnursery.com and I use that now exclusively with my silicone babies. It's expensive, but a little goes a long way and it lasts forever so it's well worth it! xoxo

Lynn, is her top on backwards? It kind of looks like it should go the other way. It looks like she would have more are room if it was on the other way. Try just the top when you get a minute. I think her top was the right way because I went by where the tag was :) And yes, Enlai was sculpted to be my portrait baby but I asked for a couple of modifications in the mouth shape for my custom baby Lynn so baby Lynn looks a little different in her expression and looks a bit closer to my baby photo. xoxo

I can see why you would be hesitant with handling this doll. It certainly looked like changing her clothes was difficult. (ie clothes that didnt fit as well, type of silicone, position of dolls limbs, type of fabric used for clothing etc. I think if she lived with me, I would have her wearing dresses.
