State is doing an excellent job, and I think it really helps that he was a progamer since 2011. He understands the history of GSL and knows how the sc2 meta has evolved over the years

State is also dedicated enough to study SC2 when he's not working, and talk to pro players to further his understanding of the game. I like Tasteless well enough, but let's be honest, he doesn't have a deep understanding of SC2, nowhere near Artosis or State. And I highly doubt he plays, watches or studies SC2 when he's not working at the studio.

He might expect DRG to tech further to hive-tech units. Ghosts were kinda overkill against ling/bane/muta since you would need the supply for more splash damage dealers. Dream's army comp was still superior, but the fact that his splash damage dealers got reset every fight really cost him.

ghost still good again muta and ling/bane, but they need tankers to survive. sniper is good to tear down muta group one by one. Ghost can't stay in front line !!!.

@@Whalery not really. The muta son the game. DRG just made more, he didn't deal with them properly, still I believe dream should have won this game. he played really well besides one engagement.

100% agree. Ghosts vs. Mutaling bane is silly.

He was probably expecting DRG to eventually tech into ultras, brood lords or lurkers, all of which ghosts do very well against. DRG kinda threw him off by simply sticking to ling/bane/muta.

they keep referring to camping as terran. the reality is. gameplay has evolved to the point. terrans cant physically apply the pressure needed to rival the cheap expanding. there is no aggressive terran builds anymore. zerg is too easy to mass

I love how western fans thought they had the best players since Serral and Reynor keep winning iem katowice. The moment some westerner come to GSL, they get eliminated at the earliest round. Maybe it’s time they realize that the geography position means a lot.

Last time he won a tournament was an online event where he sit comfortably at his room, need i remind you. It is taxing to go to a different country, different timezone, different weather and such. Worse, some player play worse if the gaming setup is different, which it does if you play offline.

Reynor is undoubtedly a great player but almost everyone is hyping him too much same as Astrea. No disrespect but foreign sc2 pros would be an average or below average pro in Korea in terms of talent. That's how good the koreans are in sc2 and I'm not even korean. Although I think Serral is on Dark and Rogue's level.

Reynor is just adjusting, he ain't home anymore, he ain't in an European country where everyone speaks English, think we should wait to the next tournament to see hill unleashed! Sad he lost, but DRG was on point today..

I don't think, that's completely true, even though I think the Korean scene has more talent in it. The main reason Korea isn't totally dominating this game is because of the military. Imagine this wouldn't be a thing, how high would be skill ceiling? Players also tend to lose motivation, if it comes closer. So Korea has a stronger playerbase overall, but people like Raynor and Serral are quite on the top. Besides that I really just trust Heromarine. Clem is really overrated in my mind. His TvT is way better now, but he would probably still be losing to any competing Terran in the gsl in a TvT. At least he can beat Heromarine sometimes nowadays.

Don't forget, that Terrans in general are much stronger in korea, so people like Raynor don't really deal with this so much. And Raynor war a little bit too predictive. If he cheeses, I think, next gsl he will be a round of 10 guy.
