AFRICA | Equipment and bicycle set up for the first 12.000 km | THE LONGEST WAY

Here you'll find links for the items from my equipment I will use for the first part of The Longest Way project (2022-2023). The first part includes 12.000 km from the Southernmost point in Africa (cape Agulhas) to Cairo, Egypt. From Egypt I plan to fly or take a boat to Turkey, and then cycle to the Far Eastern district of Russia (Republic of Sakha Yakutia). In the last chapter of The Longest Way project I'll ski for about 800 km trying to reach the Bering Strait (cape Dezhnev, Russia).

There are a lot of factors in this trip beyond your control with all the different countries and border crossings and languages and dangers of traffic and crime and illness and even animals. I'm especially concerned for your route through Ethiopia, which until just a week or two ago was under bombardment from government airplanes. What I'm trying to say is this trip is going to take a lot more luck than the other trips. And I wish it for you.

riguardo la sella brooks, per ammorbidirla in 10 minuti basta che metti uno straccio bagnato sopra la sella; poi lo copri con una borsetta della spesa e pedali 3-4 km, appena senti che la sella inizia a cedere togli lo straccio e continui a pedalare per qualche altro km e il gioco è fatto.
