Nigeria hosted this competition 21 years ago with brand new 60,000 capacity stadium and brand new Olympics games village complex. If you ask questions of authority, someone comes along to tell you to be quiet. This toadying acquiescence is taught to use in schools and by too strict parents. It is considered rude to question authority. So Ghanaian children learn to lie to avoid problems from school and parents and this behaviour continues into adult life and work. You see it all over the workforce. Peer review and the socratic method is key to development. Why is the project over budget and behind schedule? Why are there more workers being paid than are on site working? Why didnt journalists ask questions when the published project milestones were missed? 🤷🏾 No one knows because it is disrespectful to ask questions and scrutiny is disapproved of. You will lose your job for asking questions. Harmony is valued more than truth.

I am in Construction. It is normal for project turnover dates to push out a couple months due to unforseen situations that may have been missed by Pre-con. It happens every where and on almost every project. We can all see that the project is close to completion. Sometimes the little things can cause delays among other delays. They will finish before the tourney starts

Struggling to build small arenas, some are for just 500 people! Look how Ivory Coast impressed with their football stadiums. Can you see such buildings in Ghana? You will see concerts and cattle grazing in stadiums before you see children playing there for workshop
