I think you miss the point as well. If a Kenyan ship enters within Indian ocean boundary, do they pay their dues?. If they do so illegally would Indian coast guards have the right to seize that Kenyan ship? So how when Somalia coast guards run kenyan boats down to enforce law of the sea you immediately go along with Kenyan or indian authorities classifying them as pirates? Many of the crew in the cargo and merchant ships are Indians. When Somalian government fails to negotiate with the pirates and the life of sailors is threatened, that's when Indian Navy intervenes. It's partly because of the failure of Somalian security apparatus. Africa should be more concerned about piracy near red sea and European naval vessels permanently situated in African waters.

I am from India. For that matter, this looks like Mumbai harbor, and if so then I am typing this barely a few kms from where this whole parade was happening. Anyway, death penalty is not common in India. Dealth penalty to 35 people together in the same case has never happened and is likely never will. So rest assured, I doubt any of these guys will get death. Having said that the court proceedings here are slow. It often takes years if not decades to get the case anywhere. So the sad part is that these guys are likely to languish in Indian jails, which are very close to hell, in the meantime. Edit: Also, elections are due in a month, so yeah these kinda incidents will happen to raise the sentiments.
