4 Center Backs means stronger defence against counter attacks. If u have a LB and RB, they will push forward in attacking leaving only 2 of your defenders are at back which is very weak if you are facing a counter attack including players like Ronaldo or Adriano who have high Physical contact and speed. So he might be using 4 CB's to protect himself from counter attacks but at the cost of weak Flank attacks or crossing.

If you have not already heard, using 4 cbs allows for you to not be counter attacked or penetrated easily...wingbacks normally bomb up the field leaving gaps behind in transition. The cbs playing wingbacks dont bomb up the field...the are always in position. You could you defensive full back playing style players like Pavard. Hope this helps.

4-3-1-2 formation is really good if you play. Tiki taka style ...and the way to defend this formation is you need to have 4CB ...

@Mackie They use Santos (4312) because passing in that manager is OP and forwards gets lots of spaces during attack. They use 4 CB coz of long ball spammers... RB LB play little ahead of CB's but if u put CB at those position, they will play low back line and easily stop long ball spammers.

People use CB’s instead of Wingbacks because it gives them a better defensive shape. Wingbacks attack when you have the ball which will leave space in wide areas that opponents can exploit. CB’s have low offensive awareness so they won’t join the attack, them not joining the attack makes the defensive shape stable.

Actually that's also a glitch in the game, using 4 cbs won't affect ur offensive gameplay at all where it should affect but helps a lot in defence, it becomes very difficult to create spaces between those 4 cbs, even I can't understand how they play 4 3 1 2 with 4 cbs where there are no wingers to support'ur attack🤷🤷
