Brought up memories. During the 60s when schools are on long vacation I traveled by train with my mother from Sekondi to Awaso in the western region. My late father at the time worked with the British Aluminum Company which is now Ghana Buxcite Company. In those days all our neighbors were whites. After the three months holidays, I returned to Cape Coast. My neighbors in Cape Coast were Nigerians, Arabs, Indians, people from other African countries and few Europeans. Life was good in those days. No hate. We lived peaceful. People don't lock their doors when they sleep in the night or go to work. Sometimes I picture that period and ask myself what went wrong we now have hate everywhere.

With all due respect , I wouldn't say indian railways are the best in the world, though it's not bad either, don't get me wrong. Perhaps one of the best and most comprehensive railway system is in Japan. The rail network is truly comprehensive , carefully maintained and extremely safe. I know what I'm talking about because I've been to both India and Japan and travelled by train in both countries. Switzerland also has an excellent rail network like many other European countries. Positive change. But my concern is the Ticket officer selling tickets on the train. To avoid setting officers as targets for thefts and to ensure proper accountability of funds that's generated from this service, there should be very minimal or no handling of cash by train workers. You buy tickets from an accredited vendor and board. God bless our homeland Ghana and make us great and strong 🙏🙏🙏
