This was how we lived in rural Jamaica in my early years. They can collect rain water from the roof by putting up a gutter, and using a container to catch the water from the gutter. And, to make the bathroom experience more comfortable, they could build an elevated box with a cover as a seat in the latrine. You can make your outdoor latrine beautiful and neat by building it like a small house and putting some tile or natural stone on the floor. Whatever you are building, make it beautiful. When I move to Africa, I definitely want an outdoor kitchen and latrine as back up.

I'm sure they will get there with the beautifying astethics. Actually, in terms of the toilet, squating while emptying the bowels is healthier than sitting on a toilet bowel. It's cancer preventive, because it the position helps empty everything. If one has physical challenges, then ok make another for them.

Man look at my people! I'm so happy to see what they are doing & their enthusiasm being in Mama Africa. 🙏🏾🙌🏾👊🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I agree "Africa isn't for the weak hearted. This is where you separate the boys from the men & girls from the women." I loved it when I went there in the late 80s. My family has gone back & forth to Africa since the 70s. It's a special place. I felt so much peace. No matter what cultural differences there were to America, I found cultural familiarlarities with visiting down rural south in the States among black people. I found some similar smells & sounds as when I visited Loiza Puerto Rico where the descendants of the enslaved Africans lived. However, I just knew in my heart, soul, & bones, I was home; I tingled all over.

But my mom use to beat a few leaves in a pice of white cotton cloth and ring out the juice, add some honey and that was cold medicine. These two twins are doing the impossible. You asked the question could we do what there are doing. As for me. NO...WAY. I am not use to animal noise at night. I don't like hearing crickets. And complete darkness is not something I will adjust too. What will they do when the animals find those crops and the elephants and monkeys come and eat the food the are working so hard to grow. The reason I say the animals because I tried to grow a few vegetables in my back yard and the squirrels and birds started coming eating my fruits and veggies. I cannot even get pecans because the squirrels eat them all. good Luck. this is very beautiful and I hope and pray they are successful.

Great job young kings - glad you hooked up with like-minded and same age group brothers natives. The land seems prone to floods and not very fertile but green. I saw some cracks on the walls and they seem damp too. Not trying to discourage you and realize you said c19 interrupted everything so only back since June. Wish you had used clay instead of mud but it's all good. Glad they have cassava the leaves are edible too. Can plant beans and corn in between the cassava. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

You don't want the "Never Die' plants in your complex! They will destroy your buildings structural integrity! You end up having to rebuild your buildings. You have to dig them up one by one and don't leave any of the root in the ground because it will grow back!
