I've been searching my ancestry for years. I seen an interview on the breakfast club about African Ancestry and I knew immediately I had to get involve. I'm so excited that I was able to find a part of my origins. It gives me a sense of pride. Ready to learn everything I can about the culture.

You have the facial structure of a Cameroonian man so I already knew lol😂Im Cameroonian🇨🇲 (but my family is not bamileke, we’re Douala but some of my family lives in Yaoundé) I would love to do one of these tests tho. Cause I know my family is not just 100% Cameroonian, we probably have some Congolese in us too💀

Hey Brother... when I was living in Brooklyn New York..I use to acquire traditional african art. I acquired several Bamileke smoking Pipes from Cameroon many years ago. One was made from animal bone and the other one was made from teek wood, metal, wire, and hardened fired clay. There are also Bamileke carved wooden statures as well as Bamileke Masks. I've had this art for over 30 years and it's still in my African Art Collection. Congratulations on knowing your roots.

Congratulations on your results!!!! As you may know African Ancestry specializes in testing direct lineages, that is direct maternal, your mother’s mother’s mother’s mother’s lineage unto the foremother that ultimately passed down the genetic signature, and direct paternal the exact opposite focused on an unbroken line of inheriting males that pass down dna to each other from strictly a forefather in the past. These direct lineages represent a small percentage of your genetic make up, seeing you have hundreds of other lineages. I encourage you also to test with Ancestry DNA or 23 and Me who reveal to you what is in your entire genetic make up, at least the random 50 percent you inherited from each of your parents. These two companies have the largest comprehensive databases. What is also good, apart from you receiving your ethnicity percentages in their database they connect you with hundreds upon hundreds of dna cousin matches giving you the range of your connection. You can also contact these people via messaging. As a black American what has been most rewarding is finding several African dna cousin matches from various ethnic groups, thus revealing to you your origins. Example, so far I’ve come in contact with dna cousin matches(some have immigrated to the USA) that are..... Igbo from Nigeria 🇳🇬 Edo from Nigeria 🇳🇬 Hausa-Fulani from Nigeria 🇳🇬 Mandinka from Senegal 🇸🇳 Mandinka from the Gambia 🇬🇲 Wolof from Senegal 🇸🇳 Douala from Cameroon 🇨🇲 Ashanti from Ghana 🇬🇭 Fante from Ghana 🇬🇭 Ga from Ghana 🇬🇭 Fula(Fulani)from Guinea 🇬🇳 Fula(Fulani)from Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 Vili from the Republic of the Congo 🇨🇬 Lorma from Liberia 🇱🇷 Bakongo and Mbundu from Angola 🇦🇴 Added upon that I also had the privilege of testing with African Ancestry and my direct maternal lineage went back to a Yoruba foremother from Nigeria 🇳🇬 , therefore I must have some Yoruba dna cousin matches. I haven’t either located them yet in the database(ancestry.com) or they haven’t tested yet. My direct paternal lineage goes back to an Akan forefather from Ghana 🇬🇭 . I have found Akan dna cousin matches, which are the Ashanti and Fante cousin matches I mentioned, seeing they’re subgroups of the Akan.

But did you know the word Bamileke is a European corruption of the name of the Dschang people who consider themselves Baliku(The people of the hole in the earth) thus the name Bamileke is not an original term and carry a meaning never really intended by its people...although, it has been imbedded into the culture.

DNA doesn't lie! I suggest you go through African Ancestry. With the male carrying the Y-chromosome (male) it's passed from your father, his father, and his father etc. It traces from the location in which the place they came from during slavery. Go for it! Worth the money! You'll be glad you did!! In 2001 my dad mentioned to me about Equatorial Guinea. He passed in 2002. My brother took the dna test in 2021. When the results came back it pinpointed 100% Bioko Island, (Malabo), EG. Blessings to you!!

To all Afro-Africans, the best for you is to have one foot in West Africa and another foot in the United States. It would be a serious mistake to come permanently to live in Ghana, Sierra-Leone, or even in Cameroon. But you now have more and more an opportunity to have two countries in the world, which is a huge privilege in a lifetime. Your prayers for many centuries have been heard by the creator of the universe. Do not make mistakes expose you to certain disappointments. Except for very young children who will be able to adapt better than adults in black Africa. Also pay close attention to land speculation in Africa, there are many crooked brokers and especially false papers that expose you to foolishly losing your money. You will also need to find out from the traditional authorities living in the areas where you want to buy land. Many Africans are naturally generous without expecting anything in return. This is also why they cheated with slavery and the colonization that followed. They are not naive but naturally generous. Be smart and realistic, all is not well in Africa. It's very far from the paradise that we are trying to sell you....but there are heavenly corners that are uninhabited until now. Good luck to everyone A brother from Senegal in West Africa.

Have you taken an AncestryDNA or 23andMe test? You might want to make sure your paternal haplogroup is E1b1a before possibly wasting $300 on an patriclan test. 23andMe will tell you, but there is also a way to get the info from AncestryDNA raw data.
