Very cool fish. I am torn between setting up a 75 with Mbunas or a pair of Salvini Cichlids from Central American. Your channel keeps pushing me closer to the Mbunas. Keep the videos coming!

Thanks...your videos are very professional. I do have a video of an old pair of Salvini I had lol....they were super nice. Problem with Salvini is they're just bonkers. Too many options my friend :) What kind of camera do you use for your videos? I take distance videos of my tanks and they always come out blurry...I use a Canon t3i

Yes, I bought 3 of these as juveniles 2 years ago. I keep true Hongi also. The person I bought these from said that these were a cross between both line bred varieties as he was trying to develop a pure red strain. I've seen both varieties here on KZbin, some look better then mine and others worse but both claiming that they are one or the other. I couldn't track down any SRTs or Swedens, so I took this guys word for it...either way I'm happy with how this male turned out and it definitely shows similarities of both kinds, that's why I have it labelled this way :)

Kapila Mudiyanselage lol...I get what you mean...I use the Canon T3i for video and its manual focus and very touchy. Every tank I have requires different settings to duplicate the fishes real colour. The tank he's in is a tough one to film ;P The blurriness is from the manual focus.

Thanks man. It really is fun. 87 is good...it took me about 3.5 years to hit a 100. As you do more videos you'll get better too. Look at some of the big guys...their videos weren't that great in the beginning...mine started getting better around last August when I learned how to finally edit video (I just use KZbin Editor). I'm not a natural that's for sure but you pick up tricks and tips as you go. Any questions I'll help you out :)
