The Bonsmara has an average daily gain of 1, 98kg/day and a feed Convertion Ration of about 5:1 and a feeding period which is around 112 days. This makes it suited for optimal growth. The more I watch these videos, the more apparent it becomes that it's not about farming to feed the nation, but actually farming for profit. I live in the North West and see the people struggle to make ends meet and they never get any opportunity to uplift themselves or the community. How does this program help those people? Those poor people cannot afford the cost of purchasing or rearing a single chicken, since they are starving. The spotlight always shines brightly on the select few that were given an opportunity, yet that very select few quickly forget about their struggling fellow men. It is this very practice that keeps South Africans in perpetual, abject poverty.
