When I first read about Queen Nzinga, I was so happy and pleased that at least one African fought against slavery and that I could actually read about her. When I read about her, it really is a beautiful and amazing story. She was a very intelligent and sophisticated ruler. I admire her for being who she was and for what she did. I admire her so much, I've decided to take a trip to Angola soon and if I ever have a daughter, I will name her Nzinga. I would really love to see monuments of her when I do visit Angola and learn much more about her and Angolan history.

@Billonaire Riches your comment is very ignorant about actual history of africa .. you act lile africa is small place .. anyway before future replying and wasting my breath I want to know if you even african so I can know who I am talking to at least .. I am nubian and my people fought to last of their effort and till this day they still fight for their identity and freedom against arabization .. and not just us many african tribes in north west africa were never captured or give up against invaders who tried to steal land and erase genocide the native culture and people and erase their history .. and this only one example .. I am sure if you really read you would know about south africa zulu peoplr resisting and fighting and in many incidences even wining against europeans .. their many different stories and history in africa .. don't put all africa history in one sentence .

one correction. The word Ngola means King, the word A-ngola, does not mean the samething. in Greek/Latin language the letter A when is added to the beginning of a word means "Without". in this context A-ngola means Without a King, Culture, and anything that is African.

Even as your first video, the work is superbe. I truly appreciate what you are doing and I am sure thousands of other black brothers and sisters are appreciating your work. I started sharing your videos on my Google+ community: BLACK PROWESS, because I believe like you that black civilization from around the world has more than racism and discrimination to overcome. We must also overcome the division among black people: Black American don't like other black foreigners. Black foreigners sometimes don't respect black American. The same way you see in the Caribbean, Black Dominican and black Bahamian think they are superior to black Haitians. It goes on and on around the world. We are the only race that is being pissed on by all and are unable to defend ourselves because we are so busy hating on each other for petty shit. We need to change that by re-educating our black generation about where we come from and who we truly are: proud descendants of great black African kingdoms. Black people here in USA are over unemployed, over uneducated, over impoverished. That makes us a nation with no purpose, no other objective but violence. By doing what you do, you being purpose to the black generation. If you know who you are and where you are from, you will have a purpose and an objective to be better; to do greater. I think you are the only Black KZbin channel doing the right thing. It is not enough to rise up black people and make them aware of injustice in America. We need also to give the black generation a purpose of existing and prospering.

How is she related to the Kingdom of Kongo. Was Mbumdu apart of that or was it different?
@hometeamhistory8068 жыл бұрын
Jessica Langston the Mbundu were part of the Kingdom of Ndongo. The Kingdom of Kongo was actually an empire by our standard. But because their is so much oral and written literature by the Kongo people themselves referring to their territory as a Kingdom we just call it a Kingdom. That being said the Mbundu were a vassal state to the Kongo "Empire". At times they broke away from Kongo influence. Queen Nzinga was a Mbundu Queen of the Ndongo and Matamba Kingdoms. The Mbundu were pretty much in their prime with Queen Nzinga but after her they were taken out by Kongo, Portuguese, and Imbangala alliances. the social structure was pretty complex

hey bro, good to hear someone who taking time to study his/our history, i am angolan myself, half mbundu half bakongo, i just wanted to say that the history you speaking of is the portuguese version, nzinga was the queen of the kingdom of kongo. angola didnt exist at that time. She was the daughter of nzinga Kuvu, the name nzinga is a kikongo word and has a long royal lineage, the mbundu people were also apart of the kingdon of kongo, which started as what we know today as angola, and went all the way up to what we call gabon today, i will send you some references and names if you want some, so you can see how the european mind destroyed the true history, its even a debate in angola, but thanks to lineage, stone carvings ans scrolls we can find the truth, thanks for sharing the video, Bless

Maxim Calixte Nice, I will try to find some references its just that the internet is stormed with falls information everywhere, I will have a look around and speak to my elders to see if I can find something, its 100% that queen nzinga mbande was the daughter of nzinga nkuvu, and not ngola, as ngola and nzinga where around same age, , I will try and see what I can find, if not I will give you hints of the lies that has been place by this great women, bless
@coin20399 жыл бұрын
thanks for sharing. i am very surprised with what you just said, if this is true it means that our history is very twisted, i'm angolan myself too, and i'm from the same region as Nzinga Mbandi is told to be born, today know as Malanje. According to our History books, Nzinga Mbandi was actually the Queen of the Ndongo(kind of capital city)/Matamba(the intire kingdom) kingdom it used to cover Malanje and Kwanza Norte and back then the Kongo Kingdom covered Bengo, Uíge, Zaire and Cabinda and parts of RDC that's why these four provinces still share some dialects with Congo these days.
@mikalfernando52349 жыл бұрын
+Marcos Adonys yes our history was and still is being twisted and diluted, it started from colonial times mainly, for example Luanda the capital is a bakongo region not many people know that, including the provinces you named, check the names tala tona , Mabor, maianga, samba etc thats all kikongo, it leads to nzinga nkuvu and his daughter nzinga mbandi offered luanda as a trading place between the portuguese and the kingdom, i will explain how nzinga ended up in malanje, when nzinga nkuvu passed away, nzinga mbandi took over. to keep the long story short war started nzinga was running out of manpower, so escaped to uige and later entered malange to rebuild a army with ngola kalonji nzinga was never a queen in matamba , she wasnt from that region for her to become a queen, but the portuguese twisted the story with the help of sold out angolans so they said she wasnt the first born so the people didnt wanted her to become the queen etc all white lies to fit the political power and angola of today.

@hometeamhistory80610 жыл бұрын
Queen Nzinga was Queen of the Matamba and Ndongo Kingdoms in what is now modern day Angola. Back story: Early attempts by the Portuguese to capture Ndongo were halted when the King of Matamba helped the Ndongo Kingdom and defeated the Portuguese. Ndongo was continually attacked by Portuguese when Nzinga became Queen of Ndonga. Later Nzinga gained control of Matamba and Ndongo and fought the Portuguese. It was more of a stalemate at best. Queen Nzinga did not fully oust the Portuguese and the Portuguese could not gain a stronghold over the region due to her efforts. The Portuguese made several attempts to kill her but failed. It wasn't until her death that the Portuguese were able to gain an advantage.

to be honest Im not even sure... I think I found out before. I definitely speculated afterward and learned the history quite well. My assumption is that he was from the kingdom of Ndongo and the Imbangala sold him to the Portuguese or something.
