I don’t think she was born in Zimbabwe and does not live in Zimbabwe as you can also see,she is married to a white American man.I applaud her for even speaking Shona because they don’t speak Shona in America or Canada and with their parents working hard and away from their children most of the time,their children are usually surrounded by English speaking people so her main language is English It’s different for us we are in Zim ,takakurira kuZim,speaking Shona all the time I hope you understand

You really explained it well for me and i am grateful. Let me just clarify, although my daughter was born in Zimbabwe, I raised her in Botswana and then Canada and America. English became the language of communication. I will add that my husband was born in Zimbabwe and raised in Zambia, so other languages there,.Please attack me for not enforcing our mother tongue, but help me out, which language? Nyanja, Tswana, Shona, Ndebele for they interacted with all these languages in their formative years.?
