I love the movie, but I watched it so long ago! First time as a school outing. I must get it to watch with my husband, he hasn't seen it, I think, he's French Caribean. Thank you for reminding me of this movie. I met the male singer, Mietek Szcześniak, as he came to my High School to perform a concert. Our school's priest invited him, I don't know how they knew each other. And I also met one of the actors, the handsome dark one in this clip, called Bohun in the movie, his real name Aleksandr Domogarov. My aunt used to work in a theatre where he worked, he was very nice and friendly, everybody liked him and thought he was hot. All three of the main people in this clip and movie act so well with their eyes alone, so much can be said with just eyes if you are a good actor.

Song title "Dumka na dwa serca" means "Song for two hearth" and the movie is an adaptation of very famous classical polish book written by Henryk Sienkiewicz (every Pole read it). The title of this book is "Ogniem i mieczem" - means "With fire and sword"

The song comes from the film "With Fire and Sword", which is a film adaptation of the novel by Henryk Sienkiewicz, a novelist awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. The action of the novel takes place in the years 1648-1651, during the Khmelnytsky Uprising in Ukraine, which was then part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The remaining parts of the Trilogy are The Deluge and Pan Wołodyjowski. The novel intertwines the thread of Polish-Cossack fights with the love story of Jan Skrzetuski and Helena Kurcewiczówna, and Bohun, hopelessly in love with Helena, who is, of course, on the side of the Cossacks. I don't know about other countries, but in Poland the film is available on Netflix.
