This video is about a rhythm guitar groove. This is a simple exercise with triads. In this video I am using triads found in the major scale on degrees 1,2,3,4 and 5.

It is Congolese guitar, not African guitar

@@MzeewaUjiji sorry I thought Congo was in Africa. My bad. Whatever it’s great and I love it. X

@@freelancewizard7823Internal African politics, which you may not understand. There is a little artistic envy going on, anb hypocritical invoking the nebulous expression "African guitar" people from all these African countries can then appropriate art that is exclusively Congolese. When referring to something emanating from their country, they never fail in attributing it as such, or even to their ethnic group

@@MzeewaUjiji No I wasn’t aware I was just going by the title the video was posted by. I have just always loved the joyous rhythms of African/Congolese guitar.

@5:00 You can hear some of the roots of bachata right here. Goes to show how our music as dominicans is so influenced by our african roots.

1, 4, 5 in F# Major on D, G, B strings. F# 1st Inversion (3, 5, 1) B (1, 3, 5). Can play the 6 as an embellishment. C# (1, 3, 5). Also the 6 is an embellishment. Optionally play 2nd inversion (5, 1, 3). Amazing, it's all right under your fingers, allows for you to groove with ease. Hope this helped anyone looking for the applied theory.

Thank you that was very nice. Which lesson would you suggest next for more African beginner guitar lesson?
@BrotherVhukile Жыл бұрын
For African beginners I would recommend the following lessons 1. The Major Scale - CAGED shapes 2. The Major Pentatonic Scales - CAGED shapes 3. Chord progressions - on chords with open strings 4. Intervals 5. Triads 6. Tetrads Just go slowly on these. One important thing is to use all forms of learning like 1. Visualising on the fretboard 2. playing by ear - hear the sound and recognise it 3. Listen to the type of music and try to pick chords, intervals etc

Speak the truth. It is NOT African guitar, it is Congolese guitar. All the other African countries had nothing to do with developing that guitar style
