This video is about a rhythm guitar groove. This is a simple exercise with triads. In this video I am using triads found in the major scale on degrees 1,2,3,4 and 5.

@5:00 You can hear some of the roots of bachata right here. Goes to show how our music as dominicans is so influenced by our african roots.

I’m a jazz musician that moved to india to study Indian classical music, but I swear, this African style, whatever part of Africa it comes from, (plz lmk) I’ve never heard sunshine sound so good. It just sounds like sunshine right?? Don’t you feel happy when you hear these chords?
@BrotherVhukile Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. This music comes from Zimbabwe. You can google musicians like Alec Macheso, Nicholas Zakaria, Leonard Dembo, the Four brothers Zimbabwe, Devera Ngwena Jazz band, the list is endless.

Thank you that was very nice. Which lesson would you suggest next for more African beginner guitar lesson?
@BrotherVhukile Жыл бұрын
For African beginners I would recommend the following lessons 1. The Major Scale - CAGED shapes 2. The Major Pentatonic Scales - CAGED shapes 3. Chord progressions - on chords with open strings 4. Intervals 5. Triads 6. Tetrads Just go slowly on these. One important thing is to use all forms of learning like 1. Visualising on the fretboard 2. playing by ear - hear the sound and recognise it 3. Listen to the type of music and try to pick chords, intervals etc
