We are one of the only races who says the door is open yet it is still being shut in our faces. Yes, it's true that Africa is the motherland but we are all different for a reason. Our differences should be celebrated. You would not see any of us in other cultural venues being presented to their own people. Why is it wrong for us to feel we should have something to show our own. Learning is for everyone, but culturally speaking on stage our people should see the beauty of their own.

Dear Sir/Madam, It's okay to express your sentiments about horrible things that have happened in the past or are still happening today. But please don't make the same mistake as those that you dislike by generalising white people as if they are all alike. We are not. There are good white people too, who have only admiration for the African culture, as these students are expressing by trying to learn some amazing dance from Guinea.

The name is sorsonet its a dance for girls becoming women so basically a rights of passage.
