Dear dosha I am from India (west Bengal). I am feeling very happy to see that one of my african sister is exactly cooking banana and that green leafy vegetable (we call it saag) and that chiken exactly like Indians do in that Karahi ( wherein u were frying chicken) and the pan boiling raw banana ( we call it Degchi). We use raw and ripe bana in arous way in our food. My dear sister, apart from our geographical feature, distance, language, culture we r the same. Feeling happy.

Am amazed to see you eat Matooke in Giriama. I thought it was exclusively Ugandan! We also cook it in Banana leaves, but we steam it in them, making sure the water doesn't touch the bananas. We also don't add salt to it. We put the salt in the sauce. Bit it is beautiful to see thus variation and am certainly going to try it. To enrich my green banana experience.

In Jamaica we call chicken feed steppers and we prepare it many different ways. Such as soup, stews etc. This looks amazing. I’m not a fan of chicken feet but I like this. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We boiled the plantains with their skin to save their taste. When we peel them, we add lemon juice and salt in the water to prevent darkening due to oxidation.

Greetings my sister, in Jamaica we call it chicken foot or feet, we curried it, brown stewed it, use it to make chicken foot soup, but we chop/cut then in two. It looks Delicious, the food you kept turning in the pot....is it cornmeal? Maybe you guys call it maze, if it is cornmeal...we called ours turn cornmeal or polenta. Keep cooking sis. GOD BLESS🙏🙏❤❤👍👍

In India we may not use these parts of chicken. Thanks for sharing ur preparation very simply. Instead of Banana South Indian s make tapiaco and Jack fruit for same dish. 👍

Wow ! The bananas we ate just chopped and cooked with onions and tomatoes and some chicken or beef stew . I love the way you made the bananas ! That reminds me of Ugandan matoke ! Nice 💕💞My parents never gave us such to eat ! That was dog food . I never grew up in the village even my mom who grew up in the village never ate that . So not all cultures or communities and specifically individuals embrace hen feet and heads .
@alberthabarnes39973 жыл бұрын
Should we knock others down because we are fortunate than they? Yes I grew up poor, I was lucky to have meat on Sundays only as we couldn't afford it every day, and yes I ate chicken feet they are nice when brown stew or curry. I never new the head could be eaten and maybe if I had it in my days I would eat it. God bless me and I found a better life. 🙏🇬🇧

@@alberthabarnes3997 To was each is own ! With due respect the above 👆🏾 is my story , my life. I only know what I lived . Clearly that is what I stated . On the other hand , I have come to learn that in South Africa 🇿🇦 it is a delicacy that is served on every occasion, that I was surprised too, but it is what it is . So I mean I just stated what I know , I did not demean or berate anyone in any way . It’s life, we can embrace our diversity and lack thereof and therein find a common thread of humanity and that is what YT teaches us ! I personally use YT to learn about experiences and places ordinarily I may never have been exposed to. That was all she wrote ! Peace ✌🏾 ☮️ 🇺🇸
