I am a Snowbird and live six months in Florida and six months in Ohio. Last time I left Ohio with my house temperature in the 50s I had to leave my four African violet plants. When I returned six months later one of the African violet plants look like it was still alive instead of dried up and shriveled like the other plants. It had received no water or care in the home while we were gone. After watering the plant it came back and looks great. Does this make any sense? I couldn’t believe it was still alive after that long of time without any care or maintenance or water. Have you ever seen this before?

Hi there, WOW ! that's incredible. I have not seen that before, maybe with snake plants or ZZ plants, but not african violets. You have a very resilient plant and natural selection at its best work. I would propagate that plant ASAP so can have more wonderful hardy plants! Congrats!😀🪴

Why does the top get dry and bottom of the pot stays moist.

It could be that your watering nylon wick is short/ or too shallow ? I need more info to help you. 😃🪴

What does it mean when all the leaves are pointing upward almost like it's closed ?

Hi there, It could be too much light or wild temperatures swings in her location😀🪴

@@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN She is currently under a barrina t5 light about 12 inches away from the light. Would you consider that too much light?
