@@NgugiKamau-rr3zpI have studied it for long. I wish I could share but I didn’t document my findings. Both tribes claim to have come from Egypt and the claims place them to the reign of Pharaoh Mentuhotep or Muntu. Tigania in both languages means to separate, it came from when they parted in Egypt. I visited Chuka and I thought I was in Ogembo. The environment and people look the same. My family is Kisii and we have married 3 women from Meru.

Thanks Afrikan Traveller for another fine content.Sorry to hear that your family was affected by the Tribal clashes of 2007/08.I believe Kenya can learn from Tanzania in overcoming Tribalism by encouraging the use of Kiswahili as our main language.Tanzania has being able to unite 120 Tribes to one Nation and we in Kenya still having trouble with 45 Tribes.A good example is the current fallout in Kenya Kwanza and Azimio over the running mates Tribe

Tanzania was blessed with a nationalist, a patriotic leader who saw Tanzania as a united land, kenya unfortunately got a tribal leader, RIP mzee Nyerere, you left a country united and you were not corrupt or a land grabber.
@kariuki82 жыл бұрын
@@AfrikanTraveller May hope also .Right now Kenyan biggest challenge is taming the run-a-way corruption that is creating poverty.Remember poverty is leading cause of violence including Tribalism since when tribes believe they are being denied their fair share of resources they will turn to violence to claim the resources.
@kariuki82 жыл бұрын
@@jamessitati7396 Very true Mwalimu Nyerere identified tribalism as the biggest challenge young African Nations will face after Independence and put strategies in place like getting rid of Tribal Chiefs,.encouraged Kiswahili as the communication language in all aspects of Tanzanians activities.Tanzania ID or Passports one was not asked for their Tribes.This fostered National unity

The guy explaining did not quite get your question. Tharaka-Nithi county comprises of the following sections (subtribes/dialects) of the Ameru: the Chuka (Chuka Igambangome constituency), the Mwimbi, the Muthambi (Maara constituency, and the Tharaka (Tharaka constituency). Meru county compries, from the far North: the Igembe, the Tigania, the Imenti, and the Mitine. Interestingly, each big river separates these communities. At Nchiru, near Meru University, you missed the Njuri Ncheke Court/Parliament. Njuri Ncheke is the supreme court of the Ameru.
