@Lucid Dream lead dancer and dance leader are different phrases in English and different positions in the team. Jhope is lead dancer and the dance leader. Jimin is a lead dancer. Jhope leads dance practice. He literally takes over and runs practice some days, or helps the choreographer and all the guys listen to him (including jimin) bc he already knows the dance and formation switches. It’s amazing. They’ve said this, they’ve showed this, jimin has said it, everyone else in the group has said it, son seonduk has said it. Jhope puts in a lot of work and if you’re army you should give him credit and be proud of him and fascinated by jhopes skill just as much as any other member. There’s even videos on KZbin about how jhope is when in dance leader mode and the videos show even jimin asking jhope for help. Matter of fact go watch their vlive on JKs birthday when they celebrated getting no1 billboard. Suga joked about cancelling practice to celebrate the happy day and they (I think Tae) said they could only cancel practice if j-hope said it was okay. He said no. He was in charge. Don’t get defensive over something that isn’t true. Jhope dance leader. Jimin lead dancer. That’s like getting the coach or team captain mixed up with the the quarterback lol.

Usually Namjoon isn't at the front in the dance formations because he isn't a part of the dance line which consists of ( Jhope, Jimin, V and Jungkook) so those members are all usually at the front (especially Jungkook) because they are considered more skilled dancers and jhope and jimin have a background of dancing ( Jhope, aka sprite was a well known talented street dancer in his hometown, and jimin was a top contemporary dancer at a dance school in his hometown) But the whole of bts are very skilled dancers, they all trained very hard for long hours everyday for years before their debut to perfect their dancing (and also their singing)

There are 4 dancers jhope , Jimin , Jk and V , V Joined the dance line in 2018 you can check for yourself and only 2 members have years more of experience in dancering before going into Bighit that is Jhope and Jimin but all the members are very good dancers , Jk has experience in dancing when he joined Bighit he was taught he doesn't have many years of experience before joining Bighit. Jk is lead dancer because he is in front but Jimim and Jhope are the main dancers of course because of their years of dancing

Someone has surely already pointed this out but you're right, they purposefully used African dance moves mixed in with the traditional Korean dance moves in Idol (the jump kick is part of a traditional Korean dance) to show that they're proud of being Korean but also to show respect to the other cultures they take inspiration from. :D It's why I still love the Idol choreo sooooooooooo much

3:22 some of them actually come from dance background. Jhope was a street dancer before he debuted. He also participated in various dance competitions even including nationals. Jimin was a contemporary dancer in high school. Jungkook always had passion for dancing and was sent to america to up his dance skills when he was trainee. Jhope and jimin always had extraordinary dance skills since high school.

BTS said they incorporated the gwara gwara because there's actually a few African instruments they used in IDOL! So they incorporated that along with Korean dances (the spinning jump) because they used both culture's instruments :)

The problem with this video is that you don't know the dances and they just show seconds so you can't see the whole performance and there are 2 boys that were dancers before bts. jimin and jhope (sprite) jimin is contemporary dancer and jhope was a locally famous street dancer. But there also jungkook and v whoo are in the dance line and jungkook is the center so will see himm often in the front. Its: main>lead>normal Jhope and jimin are main dancers and jhope is also dance leader And do you upload today again? I love your videos :D

The level of difficulty is for the entire video. The clips are just a reference. Namjoon and Jin are the 'wings' of the group but they were put in the back because their level of dance strength was not as prominent as the others but they have since improved greatly.
