I feel my ancestors speaking through these rhythms when I'm playing this album with headphones on at work or playing them on my own congas, bongos, woodblock foot pedal, and cowbell foot pedal. The instrumentation has my full attention and my mind and body must move with it. It's beyond words. What's understood intuitively doesn't really need to and cannot fully be explained in a comment, but still I must comment. This is why music is my first love and the drums/percussion, the foundation of our rhythm, to me, are king-because Africa is in my blood. Listening to this album not only gives me a certain energy for the whole day, but it reminds me that I am a vessel of the West/Central Africans who came before me long before my family's diasporic origins in the Caribbean or my story in America. The roots run deep and I have nothing but love for mine. Feel the music, everybody.

Isn't it beautiful. I feel my ancestors when I listen to certain Finnish folk music and Native American traditional music. And African music of all sorts moves my spirit and my body as well although it hits differently for me. First two I mentioned hit me deeper than anything. African music: Probably not through my blood, but who knows though :) I don't know where all my ancestors came from exactly when I look at old family photo's can't rule it out at all. The universe is beautiful :) Have a great one

@@user-yy1tt7du8k No. just because you have the instruments doesn’t mean anything. The musician who plays the instrument breathes life into it and produces music. And don’t even tread on the hardships that the black/African people endured to create those music genres to bring happiness to their life on times of hardship and oppression.

Thanks for dropping that comment. I really enjoy Tito's musical style. I have not explored that particular set. I now have this evenings musical road map adjusted to take a detour back to Puente in Percussion. Peace and Love with respect and joy for each others uniqueness and differences. Music is a good common ground to cross all the imaginary lines we have created. Godbless
