The igbos never learn, building houses in lagos especially in the area not destinated for homes is full of risk. Here it is. I sorry for the owners, I trust they have learn a big lesson in the painful way. South east is waiting for their investment, though the rent might not be as high as in lagos but is safe there. With time when there are industries income will rise thus bring rent rate high as it is in lagos . When Soludo was declared the winner of anambra state governorship election, I proposed five points for him to consider as if I knew this demolition will take place. I suggested to demolish Ontisha international market and put up modern market and give the town a complete facelif which remove all the shanties shops and houses.

This is a loss for Lagosians as much as it is for the igbos, only to a lesser degree. People taking such draconian decisions are in offices in Abuja and are not even from the east or west or yoruba land. Where was FHA when these buildings were being constructed? There is a legal issue to consider here. We know Nigeria is a messed up and everyday we are reminded that this country belongs to the northerners and rest of us at their mercy. Let me clear you on Mariba railway. The Chinese are increasing in landlocked areas and need railway to the coast. On Dangote, what stop the Eastern governors to lobby him or partner with Bua construction to influence his participation in the region. What drove us to big cities was our commercial strength and if the Igbos were to understand globalisation, we should start to put a hub system and templates to understand the era of globalisation and the importance of emerging markets. Stop blaming the Igbos, every country that fought a war, most defender are scattered, have a case study of Sri Lanka,the Syrians , Somalians, Afghanistan. Your advice is good but what is the connection with the demolition. Come on, I feel for the brothers that have suffered huge lost. I guess the land was sold and not grabbed. I also believe that the paid for building permit and all that, I also believe that this buildings didn't grow over night, so why were they not stopped. I don't get it. Government have a department that regulates and monitor, so why wait till this point. This is shared Wickedness and totally unfortunate. Let us know when to stand by our brothers and when to condemn, yes is good for us to develop our place but we shouldn't put up a post that look like we are mocking people in the moment of their struggle. I think that the person talking is getting something wrong, it's universal that people following money, before now when Port Seaport was working, hardly do you see Igbos running to Lagos. The fact that lagos has the only functional seaport in Nigeria is an indictment on SE & SS leadership and influential people for letting the region to be economically emasculated, the war really messed us up . But come to think about the whole thing, why is our so called politicians not taking any move in preparation against what is to come which they're aware of come 2035 or 2040?. Why are they not working very hard to build infrastructures to make our place attractive so that our brothers and sisters that are scattered all over the world as this gentleman has called us lost tribe repeatedly will begin to come home to develop our place the more?.
