Can you guys bring back Gavin or someone from the Reserve side of the house; if possible a CCT or SR from the 123rd? There’s not much updated info on the process since there’s been a couple of changes as far as the afspecwar side of the house within the past year alone. @onesready

I agree 100% with you, can we have more reserve guys or ANG that are in the CCT, and SR communities. It’d be very helpful @onesready

Thank you, I hope I did us justice. I wish I could have done the interview from my office at work, but I had to come home to take care of my kids. I had to lock myself in my bedroom and control the mic and volume so you couldn't hear them. Ha, everything is a selection event. -CX

Love these videos! I was wondering how I might go about speaking with a special warfare recruiter from outside the U.S? I’m an American citizen, but I don’t live in the states and so I don’t have a US number, and it seems most forms to request a recruiter require one

Have yall ever seen someone or know someone that was prior enlisted and had to waive an RE code 3? I'm very curious about the process as I'm about to throw my full weight into getting this done.

I am a business/analytics grad from college (24 years old) with no prior military experience. I know I can sign a contract to have a chance of becoming a CRO but personally believe to be a great CRO it’s best to experience work as a PJ. If I make it to becoming a PJ, would I have to complete my 4 years as a PJ before becoming a CRO? Thanks. Killer podcast btw.

I ran with Lt Col Cooper at a track development. I been trying to enlist for 8 years and my past numbers look good. It has been very difficult for me because of my past when I was a juvenile but I have not quit. Any advice?
@stevencooper62643 жыл бұрын
Advice: Join, if you have a passing PAST what is holding you back? Write down your goals--today. If you write them down you are statistically 60% more likely to achieve them, then if you do not write them down. If you write a page worth of thoughts down today, what you wrote will be the thing(s) you thought the most about this entire month. Looking forward to seeing you enlist -CX

Please e-mail Matthew.london@us.af.mil. There is a chance your son can test at the Special Tactics Squadron or the Rescue Squadron on Okinawa. We have done that for overseas applicants in the past. I cannot promise anything but we won't know unless we ask the question. Best of luck to him. -CX

Go to airforce.com, select "apply" at the top (this does not contractually bind you) and fill in your information. From there, you will be linked to a recruiter nearest your location and you can ask him/her directly. -CX

Do folks going ANG do you also get vector? If so is that based off the base you are going to be working out of?
@stevencooper62643 жыл бұрын
That depends on several factors. Go to airforce.com, select "apply" (it will not contractually bind you) fill out your information, your interest in AFSPECWAR, and you'll be connected to a recruiter. Once the recruiter understands your specifics, we can accurately answer your questions. -CX

Your show is great but today's episode was a cruel coincidence. My son started BMT in February. He just phoned to inform me that the Air Force has changed the eyesight requirement and he no longer qualifies for PJ or CCT. It would have been better if the recruiter had know this was coming. PJ is my son's goal and now that its been taken from him before he started. I'm beyond disappointed that he was put in this position. Sorry to vent. I use your shows to stay connected to my son's journey and understand the process.

Has he thought about something like prk eye surgery? I had it done because my vision isnt up to the standards. I've done this recently and its a year recovery period (for the military) afterward. Might be worth looking into!

What degree did Lt Col Cooper study to become an STO and what does he recommend? +Steven Cooper
@stevencooper62642 жыл бұрын
There is no specific major you must have to be a STO/CTO/TACPO. I studied military history at the Air Force Academy because it genuinely interested me, is directly applicable to my profession, and if we do not learn from our history, we will be doomed to repeat the negative parts of it. After becoming a STO I garnered 2 x masters degrees, leadership & war studies. I recommend you pick something that you are passionate about and that will hold your interest. I also recommend you be a life-long learner, think critically, and keep an open mind...but not so open that your brain falls out. Good luck. -CX
