I had a black painted engine like that break on me. The pin that connects the rod to the piston was made out of soft metal, so the needle bearing dug it's needles into it, so it started running bad. Not to mention that the engine crank case had a crack in it, right out of the factory, so it was leaking oil. Anyway, I rode for less than 1000km, before it broke, but I bought a new one, went straight to a Zeda 80. I thought these would be better and last longer. The engine didn't run well, wouldn't idle, it acted like it had an air leak that I've never found. Only upside was that it had more power. After 2000km or so, it spat the bearing that connects the rod to the crankshaft... So, now I am running a hybrid of the two engines. It runs well, but it makes a clanging noise, inside. Pretty much done with these cheap two stoke engines. It's a lot of fun to ride and fiddle with, but I want reliability, as well.
@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that you experienced all those problems..😭😭 Generally these little engine work pretty well & if taken care of & not ridden as hard as they will go usually give you miles of trouble-free riding...🚴♂🚴♂Although I will 100% admit that through the years, I too have received engines with the same troubles you have experienced. I hope in the future that whatever engine you try gives you a lot less problems because they are fun to ride when you're not having problems..👍👍
@laurentiudinca96062 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Well, when I first bought it, I didn't even think about reliability issues, since my dad bought his 8 years ago and only had issues with the clutch (it was bad to begin with), and the crank parts never broke down for him all these years. So I thought that mine will hold up just the same. And I didn't even ride them hard, cause I like to cruise, especially on a bicycle which isn't all that safe. I am now looking into 4 strokes, and maybe that will help me with decent transportation till I get a motorcycle. I heard that 4 strokes are a bit more reliable and durable.

@Eco-trans do you recommend the 80cc or 100cc kit? Oh and 2-stroke vs 4-stroke, what is better?
@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes Жыл бұрын
The 80cc &100cc are pretty much the same, the 100cc gives you just a little bit more power, so if you live in an area with a lot of hills you have to ride up a little more power might come in handy.. But all in all they are pretty much the same, if you don't have a lot of hills I would stay with the 80cc because it gets better gas mileage & will work for you just fine. 👍The 4-stroke engine is a completely different set up, they are a little more work to mount on the bike & they take a bike with plenty of room in the frame beings the engine is a little bit larger & you'll have to put a set of wide cranks on the bike to clear the engine so you can pedal it. They have a lot of low-end power for going up hills & they are pretty good on the top speed too. The plus side of them is you don't have to pedal them to start them & you don't have to mix oil & gas, the engine has its own oil in the crank case so you can ride right up to the gas station & fill the tank wherever you want. The only downside of these is the clutch is a little jumpy when taking off under a lot of throttle. (It's just the way the centrifugal clutch is designed) Some people don't care for that & a 2-stroke clutch doesn't do that. I'm personally used to this because of my minibike & go kart riding days so it doesn't bother me. I have one & I've put a ton of miles on it & have never had any issues. I hope this gives you the information you're looking for to help you make the decision on what will work best for you. ME: Personally, I prefer a 4-stroke, they are quieter, no oil mess, I don't have to carry oil or gas with me on longer rides because I can stop at any gas station if I need to & no clutch to pull every time I stop, & lastly the engines are way more reliable & last a lot longer. If you have any other questions, feel free to send me a message. 🚴♂🚴♂

0:52 I have a question with that statement. If I wanted that reliability but also more power what are my options? Aren't the so-called 'performance' parts higher quality than stock on these cheap china motors? And no, I'm not trolling you, I've owned one of these kits before, and I wasn't impressed. 2:22 that happened.
@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the performance parts for these engines aren't made out of any better material than the stock parts 😥 As sad as it is to say performance parts are made to deliver performance & not longevity 😢. Take racecars for example ( any series you prefer) most of them have top of the line parts & made from quality materials but they are constantly pulling the engines & refreshing them throughout the race season. Now on the other hand the car in your drive way will go for 200,000 miles & you never have to refresh that one in the coarse of it's life.. Hi-Performance vs Stock, it's basically the same concept for bike engines 🤷♂️ I have discovered that with these bike engines that they last the longest if you leave them stock & don't ride them as hard as they will go everywhere you go, we ride a lot of miles at a moderate pace, around a 1/4 to 1/2 throttle = 13 - 15 mph. Nobody wants to hear that but if you want your equipment to last that's how you do it.. They are bicycles with engines not motorcycles.. I hope that if you give them another chance that some of this info helps you get a ton more miles or riding enjoyment.. 👍🚴♂️
@ghettobikelife88333 жыл бұрын
Many of the cheaper ‘performance’ parts for these engines are useless and won’t improve hp unless you have an actual strategy when modding the engine. Those cheap little banana pipes for example, you’d be better off derestricting the stock muffler because it’s impossible for a correctly tuned pipe to be that short in length
