The "balancing" they're trying to do balance Casual and Pro/Ranked bases is so ridiculous and not going to work. You can't start affecting casual gamer's games with changes that are really meant to help Pro/Ranked which they want NOTHING to do with. Cutting mats, nerfing grenades and other "balance" changes as well as eliminating TRIOS is going to cause tremendous frustration with the larger casual base. You did a great job explaining it Sypher! Thank you!

I wholeheartedly agree! I think even if they want ranked mode and pubs to be similar they should have just nerfed them in ranked/tournament modes. I don’t think anybody would object, and it’s not like they’d have to add a new server for that like when they added ranked either. I also miss when Fortnite would add fun/wacky items to the game that were just pure fun to mess around with like the storm flip item. I’m very glad the Spider-Man web shooters are back as they were very fun and one of my favorite parts of Chapter 3. Overall I think there isn’t really anybody who would be upset with just having two modes: ranked modes and casual modes, in order for the player base to be all happy.

So true. Literally yesterday I was trying to play some ranked with my two freinds that play the game when we realized trios was completely gone (we haven't played the game in a while and had no idea) and what's even worse is that there's no fill in ranked quads so we just had to play a player down the entire session. As a casual player I can't even play ranked with my friends and have fun.

@@KrisJoshJones there are more casual players than pros and there just is no justifiable reason to affect, in a negative way most of your player base's game. It's gonna frustrate the casuals and lead to very bad feelings which is not good for the game.

What I think upsets me the most about the change to the heavy mainly cause I love using it. Is why can’t the ranked players adapt I understand nades are harder to adapt to when someone throws six of them on your building but damn. i think they should do a poll every tuesday for something that can get vaulted (etc. three items/guns and an option for nothing getting vaulted) instead of epic just completely changing pubs all the time and having it affect tournaments

I honestly really hate this change. The heavy sniper is one of my favorite weapons of all time and the one-shotting walls was so fun. IMO should be changed in tournaments but stay the same in casual play, it keeps the fun in the game

Here’s what I think they should do: keep the lootpools the same between casual and ranked, just make the necessary balance changes in ranked mode so certain items aren’t as powerful as they maybe are in casual.

With these "balance changes" it just divides the player base even more. The game will become more and more "sweaty" and casual players will move on to something else. As someone who was huge on the tournaments back during chapter 1, I feel like the prize pools shrinking so much has made a lot of people care less. Back in the day, you had to be like top 2,000 duos to win actual money, nowadays it’s like top 100. I felt like it was somewhat feasible that on my best most lucky day I could make top 2,000. Top 100 is too far out of reach for the somewhat competitive player. So there’s no chance at winning anything competitive so why worry about the competitive stuff

An idea on how epic could add siphon: so make it when u get a kill u get a health or shield Regen for 25 seconds (doing 2 a second) so in the end u still get 50 siphon but it's more balanced and fun

Honestly if a grenade does tickle damage it just should just get vaulted. The point of grenades is to blow things and people up so if it can’t do that they don’t have a use to exist. The statement about them trying to combine the player bases of competitive and casuals it won’t ever work as if everything is balanced around competitive play it would make casual play a even worse experience as now you have to hit every shot instead of being alright with missing. They already did have some kind of divide when they introduced zero build and tbh it was a much needed change for casual players. Being casual in builds while others have played for 6 years straight it was really hard to get victories as they would just out build you. As someone who comes in and out of the game zero builds gave me interest to keep playing Fortnite. Now to balance the weapons as long as they can foresee and fix cheese win methods like soaring jump+the dub or grav hammer + balloons. Then the casual experience would be find and pro play if a weapon is “too powerful” then they should have their own balance rather than just making everyone else suffer for pro play

it’s funny how people are arguing about the heavy sniper being lower structure damage is somehow a bolt with 4 second reload? like thats been every gun in the game.. Burst AR? rifle shooting in bursts, Tac Shotgun? fast firing shotgun that deals less damage, Machine SMG? faster firing smg that deals less damage.. like its been like this for 5-6 years an amazing example is the heavy AR since it’s in the heavy category, it does more base but has a slower reload yet people think it’s distinct you just need to change the damage on the heavy to make it more distinct from the bolt and it’s ok, im both a casual and somewhat competitive player yet i think the heavy sniper change was the best thing to happen to it
