After playing that map literally 10,000 times, I'm over it. COD is the same old thing, over and over, they won't properly address cheating, and do ridiculous gimmicks like King Kong vs Godzilla. I don't understand the appeal. Most people just want to play a FPS match. People who need a competitive FPS to be something more than a straightforward FPS game are the kind of people you will never please, no matter what you do. But aside from creating new maps from time to time, XDefiant is precisely what it needs to be. A FPS game for people who actually want to play a FPS game, as opposed to something like Fortnite, with its frequent crossover nonsense and building stuff in a FPS game. It is like a bad acid flashback. I also really just don't like BR. Because I am a tactical player, and apply actual real world combat tactics, BR is just me sitting on the toilet for half an hour, waiting for the only other remaining player to come looking for me so I can shoot them in the face when they open the door. Without a real objective, FPS games are just a pointless crapshow. Like going back in time to the UT '98 days when people were just so enamored with playing a FPS game online, they didn't need purpose to enjoy the game.

It’s OK to have a break from a game. From what Mark Ruben said a little while ago, they’re quiet because they’re working hard on the future of the game. Ubisoft is always quiet for long periods while they’re working on stuff and only come out with marketing when they’re ready for it and it’s in the marketing plans. The game does feel a bit stale at the moment but it’s a great game. I’m taking a mellow approach to it and will patiently wait.

Everhone who said black ops 6 would kill this game were right. It definitely didn't exactly die, but its become utterly irrelevant. KZbinrs that make xdefiant content get like damn near no views anymore. Black ops 6 is booming on console, i get sub 20 ping games. Xdefiant hasn't given me one bellow 60. This game may not be "dead", but its barely alive, lazily holding on. Ttk is still long, guns are unappealing, movement is still jarring, content is drip fed and infrequent, changes are often meaningless or only harmful, the game has no understanding of balance, maps are terribly designed and the game gets updated as frequently as minecraft lmao. I think the only people motivating anything for xdefiant or against bo6 are like cod content police like Blame Truth or NeroCinema. They're like the only two people who managed to rage bait communities cod to keep xdefiant on life support. Ngl, if Blame Truth stopped making videos cods player count would explode and xdefiant would die. That man child is the only one loud enough to motivate some people to continue playing a game that would die of they stopped for a week. Obsession and hate against cod is what keeps it alive imo. Update: Its dead. It died. No one should be surprised. This game was a failure from the start.

I thought they did something with the movement last time I played the game. It seemed like I was running in mud or with weighted shoes on that was one turn off for me that made me decide not to touch the game again on top of everything else, including Nerf weapons, I think it pisses a lot of people off when you get a weapon set up that you’re very comfortable with and you like it and then they completely destroy your set up by changing the power of the weapon. Why bother leveling everything up if they’re just going to destroy what you’ve created

That's funny because I like the fact you can't slide very far or jump 10 ft in the air. It is an authentic gameplay experience that is desperately needed because CS2 is the only other modern FPS game that doesn't use superhuman physics. Because of the popularity of CS2, I don't see XDefiant going anywhere. There are enough players out there who don't want gimmicks. I really like BL3 because you feel like a god. But I don't want those kind of mechanics in a competitive FPS.

But idk if you saw - Mark said that their main focus right now is just getting the game into a good spot gameplay-wise and that they're gonna focus on the content and marketing for seasons 3 and 4. If you think about it, it doesn't make sense to put so many resources into making a bunch of content while the netcode sucks as people will have a bunch of content AND a shitty experience. Not gonna lie, brother; I spent a lot less time on the game when my ACR got dumpster'd. I felt like every weapon was in a balanced spot but the designer of the LVOA was upset it wasn't the most used AR in class and needlessly nerfed two fan favorites after they had already taken away our rapid-fire barrel. I still play now and then because I like the M4 but needless nerfs and no substantive content is a bad combo for any live service game. As long as you stay true to yourself you'll never fail. XDefiant is fine. If you need all that flash, gimmicks and special events to enjoy a FPS game, go play COD and leave XDefiant to the purists. XDefiant is basically Ubisoft's answer to CS2 and you don't hear CS2 players complaining because they want a pure FPS experience, free from flash and gimmicks. As an OP online FPS player who was there at the beginning, I applaud Ubisoft for not pandering to the ever changing whims of children. Not going to get killed by Peter Griffin or any other ridiculous crossover character. I like the Snowdrop engine and the fact that XDefiant doesn't give you superhuman abilities like being able to slide halfway across the map or jump 10 ft in the air. If XDefiant dies, I'm probably going back to BF1 and BFV, especially since EA finally decided to address cheating. I'll also probably be playing a lot more Enemy Territory. Still active. Still popular enough to get a match. I played it a ton back in the day. While I had played UT some, ET was the first online FPS I played routinely. Doesn't get more pure than that. Even though it is easy to cheat in the game, virtually nobody does because they are purists who understand that a stolen victory is really a loss, i.e. not many kids playing. No clout to be had from cheating your way to the top.

As there's very little to play for, and I'm not the best in terms of ability, I stepped away several weeks ago. After reading up extensively on the forthcoming season three/four leaks, it just doesn't seem exciting enough to hold my interest for any extensive amount of time. At its core lies a fantastic FPS that rewards fundamentals (when the stars align and things work properly), but again, that key element that keeps players playing -- something to strive for, to play towards -- just isn't there. I'm afraid slow and steady might not win this race.

I just got fed up with Ubi not giving us content or fixing bugs fast enough. Also It takes far too long for me to find games no matter what I do,and when I do 90% of the lobby I’ve played before already and/or it’s a map I refuse to play like Attica or mayday. As a casual I like it. I played when it came out and stopped for a while. Not for a specific reason I’m just not into competitive shooters. 1) changing the maps doesn’t do anything for me. New maps is always good but don’t change pre existing maps. Personally, I don’t care about holiday themes. 2) I feel like every shooter has a balancing problem. There’s always one gun/class that’s favoured over others. 3) call of duty isn’t good anymore imo and it’s so much money. This is a good cheap alternative imo. To conclude I like it how it is personally as a casual player. If you no longer have fun take a break and if you still don’t have fun change game. This is all just imo as a casual don’t come at me.

They don't want to promote XD before it's worth promoting. They don't want what happened at launch to happen again, they can't survive that twice. That is why there is no promotion. And that is not just something I make up, that is straight from Mark himself. You could go ride the CoD wave for a few months, have look back around Xmas for season 3. I just started playing XDefiant and it is a refreshing change from COD. It gives me what I am looking for in an online FPS - competition. It isn't bogged down in gimmicks like COD. It doesn't make you superhuman. Being a reactive player isn't going to do much for you, unlike nearly every other online FPS out there. If you don't have a tactical mindset in XD and can't plan ahead, you aren't going to enjoy the game.

I think the one thing that is definitely killing XDefiant so that they have no hard-core mode. Furthermore, for a casual player, not the casual players you see in the videos because they always instantly locked onto the heads of their targets (not a casual player more meaning to a pro player with the lock on). Those are not casual players casual players normally hit a lot of body shots. Sometimes they zone and on the heads not instantly nobody likes pumping in a half clip to get a kill and then even after the updates, it’s nothing but trade kills and hit markers. Still have problems with people shooting around corners after 440+ hours, I decided to never touch the game again until I see a hard-core mode ( for those who don’t understand what hard-core is one shot to the head at the most three shots to the body) not spent all day and unload a half clip to make a kill. Until I see that they have added a hard-core mode I am not touching the game. It’s a waste of my time. Also the ridiculous prices for any add-ons that you might want let it cosmetic or whatever not paying those prices especially just to change appearance down to five to $10 sure but not 20 and 30. When I see these changes, take place or see them in a video because I don’t even have the game installed anymore. Maybe I’ll come back.

Have you played the game recently? I just started yesterday and have already gotten a few OSOKs. TTK can be a bit long for body shots but that's the way it is IRL when someone is wearing combat armor. You simply want a different type of gameplay and that's OK. Expecting every game in existence to morph to suit your desires is not OK. XDefiant is one of about 4 popular FPS games that appeal to people who just want to play a FPS match without a bunch of flash. If you want absolute realism (most people don't consider that fun), go play PUBG and stop ragging on XDefiant. I can't play PUBG myself because it is too much like being in a real gunfight, which triggers my PTSD. When I found myself dodging King Kong and Godzilla while dogfighting a F-86 in a T-6, I knew my COD days were over. XDefiant was like a breath of fresh air for me. Focused on the game, not the gimmicks.

xDefiant is as good as cod, objectively it's even better because it's free. But it's just not relevant the way cod is and it's development team dropped the ball. The game doesn't feed you a sense of accomplishment. You aren't earning scorestreaks for your hard work, you aren't unlocking skins and camo's, there's no in-game banter between players, the search and destroy mode is super boring, some of the abilities are just a pain to deal with (the turret 💀), you can't look up other peoples combat records. A lack of notable content creators playing it, no pro-league ...all this stuff killed the game.

They really don't. If you want that, go play COD. Plenty of people like XD for what it is. CS2 is hugely popular and they have 7 maps, never add any new content and people are OK with that because a lot of people aren't looking for what you're looking for. People who aren't addicted to new content. People who are actually trying to enjoy playing a competitive game instead of trying to gain clout to impress their friends. The thing about COD games is that, when you are a good player, you rank up and quickly realize that every match has more cheaters than legit players. I was into CODM for awhile but when the World Championships were won last year by cheating, I was done. I tried Whorezone once. They were doing that ridiculous King Kong vs Godzilla thing and the whole match turned into something like a bad acid flashback. When I was taken out by an opponent that appeared as nothing more than a disembodied set of legs, I knew that, after 2 decades of playing COD games, I would never touch another one again.

AK and ACR nerf is the biggest fail for me. It feels waaaay too slow now. And also the FPS (PC) feels not good anymore. They fixed it a bit but it is still not good. Just started playing the game yesterday and it is a breath of fresh air. No sliding halfway across the map; no jumping 10ft in the air. You're just too used to playing games that give you superhuman abilities. As for how the game runs, I didn't notice any stutter or lag playing at 1440p medium with a 120fps cap on a RX6600. If you wanna grind, play COD. I like that I can just jump in the game and have some fun for an hour without having to grind.

Moved to BO6 even though the game is very frustrating, has terrible map design, and eats more of my PC Specs (much harder to run than XDefiant) at least it has a lot more things to do more to learn and something that you can grind for and most importantly playerbase and content (Matchmaking is much quicker on BO6). I really like XDefiant since it is very fun but in the current state it is not that enjoyable as it first launched and I recently uninstalled it.

The cheater problem is killing the game. If they banned everybody using a chronus and color bot you’d see the player count dwindle dramatically. It makes ranked absolutely unplayable and if you see anybody with a higher rank than silver it’s immediately suspicious. Ubisoft is literally hiring for an anti cheat dev and if anybody wants to save this game go apply.

I just want a solid FPS game that isn't trying to pander to Zoomers with a content addiction problem. XD is that in spades. Like playing CS2 but with controller support, using a controller layout I am well familiar with. I would literally pay them a monthly subscription to just keep the game simple and straightforward.

My issue with this trash and poor excuse of a game is the always high ping and the 20+ min matchmaking and my and my net is wired and has 300mbps download and 100mbps upload so it's definitely the problem not from My Internet
