I liked the overall feel of this Drama but some of it wasn't well written. For instance the parts where they were in college but had kids acting the roles so the kids looked like they were high.school students. And she drastically changed from the teenager in USA to the adult that left USA to return back to China. The ages never matched.

Janice Wu who played young Mosheng was 22-23 when My Sunshine was filmed which is older than an undergrad in college. She was pretty age appropriate. remember there is only a 2 month at most difference between the last month of a students high school year, and the first month of a students college year. They don't suddenly look significantly older. (I see College students every day) GRaduate Students (22-26ish) could still pass for high schoolers... if they weren't aged significantly by negative health factors of staying up all night studying, collecting data, doing whatever other menial labor their faculty mentor asks of them, or writing their thesis/defense. Janice Wu does look young (Coup de Fronde she plays her character from High school, through college into working adulthood, Skate to Love she plays a college student despite being a bit older) If you are not perpetually surrounded by College Students, and your only exposure is dramas, your perception of their age and appearance is going to be skewed. When other factor to consider. Most of the flashbacks in My Sunshine are meant to be an idealized, nostalgic memory, for the characters. "Ah youth" They are going to picture themselves as their best younger selves. If you really want your brain to break about the age of an actress, how they look, compared to the character they play. Look up Irene Song's works. She is only a year Younger than Janice song, but looks like she is 8 years younger. and yet she plays college students through to adulthood. (because she is an adult, she turned 30 this year.)
