I can tell he knows what he is doing. He actually shines shoes correctly. I do not have enough bones in my body for each one to represent a shoe shiner that I've seen just apply a polish (even worse: some even use silicone-based polishes that can choke the leather out if you use too much and don't take off the old layers when puting a new one on!) and then buff it out and call what they just did, "leather care." Leather care is so much more than just using a few layers of one polish and then some buffing. Don't get me wrong, that is okay to do if you're touching it up, but thats just a small piece of the process that truly defines leather care.

I used to travel a lot and go to airport shine services. Burbank has a good one but my favorite all-time was in Denver airport. The guy used a lighter flame on my leather shoes to bring out the oils just before the last buff. Have you ever tried that method Angelo?

Wish you were in NYC(before Covid19!) because you can’t get anyone to saddlesoap the shoes before polishing unless you drop them off for a week and get charged about $50. The best I get is a very good brushing, polish, wax and spit shine. Great job.

I've got an old pair of Tony Llama's full quill ostrich in a very light brown. Can they be shined without destroying the full quills? Any input would help. Thanks Angelo!

Hi Jay, yes! What I would do with those boots is I would use leather conditioner and apply it with your hands or use a soft cloth wrapped around your fingers and make sure not to rub on the quills. Then finish it up with some natural polish with the same method then to buff it just use a brush, no buffing cloth. Thanks
