1. Tennessee 2. Iowa State/ Auburn 3. Iowa State/Auburn 4. Kansas 5. Gonzaga- if they beat Kentucky I really don't see Auburn moving from #2. They beat Iowa State and they lost by 2 possessions at a very tough Cameron Indoor. Iowa State lost to Auburn, and they won a game that you're supposed to win at home.

I love ISU but I personally don't think they have had as tough as schedule as others and less games. Less games I just don't understand. If they can handle Iowa handily, then maybe move up to top 3 somewhere.

@@joeverschoor9234 True but in my opinion not enough high level teams. Too many Jackson State's in pre-season. Colorado and Dayton were good but Auburn, Colorado and Dayton were in a tournament. If you ignore Maui it would be Marquette and Maybe Iowa as any pre-Big12 challenges. If you want to be a top 5 team we need more than that in my opinion. What if we happened to be in a weak tournament, what have we really learned that needs to be fixed before Big 12 play with just one or two challenging games?

@@joeverschoor9234 If they would have played a second ranked team in Maui and won that game I might have better feelings about #3 ranking but... playing unranked teams that happened to beat ranked teams (for whatever the reason) along with a solid Marquette win and 4 gimmes just makes me uncomfortable with #3. I don't want it to go to their heads but I guess we'll see how Big 12 play goes. Right now, Kansas and Houston which are probably the biggest threats seem to be having their own problems so I am currently feeling good about Big 12 play.

@ fair points, to be fair I do think Dayton will be ranked as the season progresses. In my opinion they were a tougher matchup than Marquette just from the eye test (and box scores)

You can’t say “no way” when Tennessee has two 15+ point quad 1 wins with no losses… there’s literally no reason to believe Tennessee is worse than Auburn with any certainty. I will say however that I think Auburn deserves to be above Tennessee because of their quality of wins. Crazy SOS so far, but again, there’s definitely an argument to be made for Tennessee
