Really great video , excellent footage and angling to get all that captured on a relatively inexpensive set up , hats off to you . Tackle manufacturers are spending 6 figures and more on underwater shoots and nothing as clear as yours.

Nice video and nice fish! Such a change to see a carp being landed by rod and line and not shot with a bow and arrow. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with a product called leadcore but it’s a very useful addition to your rig and will mean that there are no coils of line between the bait for a few feet which can help avoid spooking fish. The other option can be to use rig tubing which as the name suggests is a hollow thin flexible tube that you thread your main line through and can help anchor your line to the bottom and offer some protection against abrasion too. There are loads of videos available on KZbin from people far more qualified to talk about both than I am if you’re interested. Tight Lines and keep spreading the work that carp are there to be caught not killed! 🇬🇧😁👍🏻

I thought there was something strange about the tackle being used. Now I've realised you're an American fishing for carp using a multiplier reel. That's a first for me. I can understand the thick mono being used now, watching the line dragging over that rock edge.

Your rig length is too long, that’s why the carp often drop the hook. Consider a stiff fluorocarbon or a simple braid, will give you better results.

@@extremefishcrossing I’m not sure if you can find it in the US, but brands like Korda make braided hook link, or if you use fluoro or braid hold it above the steam of a kettle and stretch it a bit with your fingers, it will help it stay flat on the bottom 👍

Thank you for watching and commenting. I do have a brag mat, but I prefer not to use it unless the fish is exceptionally large, as I like to release them as quickly as possible. Do you all measure the size of the fish you catch every time? Some people also weigh them, right!

I'm in Oz so these fish are always destroyed. I ask because as carp get bigger they do change proportions specifically the lips become more pronounced. I noticed this one had this proportion change so I was curious to know just how big it was. As depressing as their hyper abundance here is, they are a solid sport fish and I enjoy watching you take them on as the genuine sporting challenge they are. My personal best is a 12lber on 6lb line (corn kernels as bait). @@extremefishcrossing

In Australia, carp are considered problematic fish, and I just learned about it for the first time. I believe the carp in this video are probably around 60 to 70 centimeters. Nevertheless, your record of catching such large carp on light lines is truly impressive!@@pressb
