After Effects Audio Spectrum Tutorial (Audio Waveform - No Plugin)

Creating visual effects for music and getting the audio to react with the effects. This is a tutorial of how to create a audio spectrum and getting a smooth audio waveform with no plugins. We take a look at after effects cc/cs6 and creating a basic audio waveform, one that looks like monstercat.

This is so far the best tutorial on how to create audio spectrums on Adobe After Effects. I have one little baffling question though, why did you have to create a "New solid" for the audio spectrum or what are the solids for in general?

A solid is like a coloured layer the audio spectrum effect needs a solid to be viewable

@@VerticDesigns I have one question. Namely, during export and Rendering to avi files of a finished project, it weighs a lot and it stutters a little. What are the best settings so that it is nice quality and does not weigh so much. I will add that the file has three minutes

Yh just make sure the composition is the right length or set it to work comp then go to Export > Media Encoder > and best format is H.265 which is the newer one but if that doesn't work for you or you don't have it then just use the old one which is H.264

If you're looking for better file compression I'd say to use another format or just lower the bitrate. Not really sure what else you could do because normally videos with effects should be under 1gb unless they're long videos or have a high bitrate hq audio

Let me know if there are any other questions you have or if you found the right format. But yeah like I said the main ones that affect the size are video bitrate, frames per second (fps) and the audio bitrate

I thought that equalizer will be that sky, that would be awesome to be honest :D not much scaling, but waving by circle so sides around circle with mask like its now.

@@VerticDesigns it is, by scripts attached to scale, opacity or rotation from audio generated keyframes. But I was searching just for how to make faste boxes and triangual tops without masking and not pills or rounded cubes :D They wanted scene with mountains, water,trees maded form equalizers, and recolored by original. It was fun too :D
