Hey! Just came across this and figured out the shortcut for Mac on the first part. You have to click and start to drag the comp and then while dragging hold down CTRL+ALT. I actually had no idea this was even possible in AE. Thanks SO much for sharing!

copy/paste existents project in windows with different name and drag/drop both project in project window in AfterEffect, titles compositions in it are independent then, its a fastest way

Heres and easier way/ for more complex projects: 1.Mark the comp you want to duplicate in your project tab 2. Go to File - Dependencies - Reduce Project (that deletes everything in you project that isnt used by whatever you have currently marked) 3. Save whats left of your project(ie. your comp and whats needed for it) under a different name 4. Open your Original Project and import the save into it. that way you will have created another instance of your comp and also all underlying precomps so that you can make as many changes to the duplicate as you like without altering the original
