Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I really wanted this game but just talked myself out of it several times. Your thoughts definitely helped me feel like I made the right decision for the present. Still wouldn't mind playing it should the opportunity arise but won't go out of my way unless I can find it on a really good sale.

Yeah, I can easily see this as a game a lot of people may enjoy playing once in a while, but not necessarily owning.

I backed this on KS and learned it over Thanksgiving Break. It’s a very fun game with a lot of different things to do. It was my #2 solo game for 2023. I actually played several 2 handed games to learn the different things and slowly add in some of the different mini expansion items each game before playing true solo once. I never even got to the war expansion.

Thank you for your review. I appreciate how thorough you are and how you included those beautiful clips of the game to showcase what you were talking about. I backed this on Kickstarter but just recently got around to playing it. I was putting off playing it because I saw a bad review, which then made me nervous I wouldn't like it 😒. Turns out I like it quite a bit. Great theme I hadn't seen before and just complex enough to stay interesting. I would have appreciated a solo player aid card, though. I didn't like having to refer back to the rule book to see what the AI would do. I'm usually pretty good at remembering complex AI turns, but for some reason I had trouble remembering a couple in this game 🙃!
