Brimstone is often compared to Hellfire. Both have advantages over the other Hellfire has a bigger warhead but Brimstone has 4 x' s the range, so you can hit your target in greater safety. Brimstone has been proven to be more accurate st hitting a target moving at 70mph. The other trick for Brimstone is it's versatility. With a few tweeks there is a ship to ship version, a few tweaks and it will be fired from the F35 as an anti ship weapon, it can be a land based ship killer and soon a heliborne tank killer. A very cost effective weapon system

The big difference is the mission Brimstone was originally designed for. Originally it was designed to be used in large salvos, using each missiles mmW radar they would look for targets, identify them, classify them, delegate targets to each missile. I was on a Spruance class and we were enforcing a blockade and this ship was going to run it. We gave him 5 verbal warnings and 3 shots from the 5" in front of his ship. He didn't think we'd fire on him and neither did I for that matter. Turns out we were both wrong. We slammed 2 harpoons amid ships just above the water line, blew it in half and sank the mf'er. So, yeah, those things pack one hell of a punch. We put them amid ship so the crew wouldn't be killed and they could abandon ship. Yet people say we are indiscriminate killers. Despite this the German people have yet again shown their kindness and warmth towards refugees, that is something you should be very proud of 🇩🇪🇺🇦. I'm disappointed in how the UK has done on that side of things though, I know it's probably better for the Ukranian refugees to be housed closer to Ukraine but I think we let them down with our response.

I don't think it will make much difference now. Eastern Ukraine is in a meat grinder. It's russian artillery that's causing all the damage now. In wars, it's the artillery that causes the main damage. 70-80% something like that. Tanks, armoured vehicles, infantry are really the mop up patrol. Ukraine lacks heavy artillery, think most were taken out early on. That's why they have been begging for such heavy weapons. East will eventually be lost. Long supply lines for Ukraine now. Basically the Ukrainian army in the east are buying time for the rest of the country. Let's hope they make good use of the time.

Yup. Lots of artillery will be deployed over the next two to three weeks. This should be a game changer because any time the Russians use their artillery, the Canadian/US artillery about to be deployed is capable of accurately working out where exactly the incoming originates. So the Russians can expect return fire by return of post. Should have a chilling effect!

It's a good missile but 6.3kg warhead is not going to break a ship in half what are you talking about? A harpoon anti ship missile for example has a warhead of 220kg - almost 40 times larger than this.

The video is wrong, Brimstone is NOT primarily an anti-ship weapon. It's mainly anti-tank and was originally intended as an improvement of the Hellfire, but along the way so much got changed that it's effectively a new missile. It's capable of being fired in salvos and then the missiles automatically coordinate which one will strike which target, so no target gets hit twice. I've read reports that it's scarily accurate, something like 95% to 98% hit rate. It's so accurate that it won't just hit the target but it selects which PART of the target to hit. In previous wars, tanks used to be scary. Nowadays they're more like coffins on tracks.
