The beef would not be cooked. The beef would have a fatty stock. To cook the beef all the way through it needs higher heat and constant stirring, which means the wrap would be either burnt or broken up. Don't risk illness and cook the beef first

All that needs to be done, after this masterpiece is created, pop it in a 375 degree oven for approximately 45 minutes and remember, DON'T heat the skillet when you build this so you won't burn your tortilla. It is a beautiful recipe, they just forget to tell the reader 2 basic steps. I am so glad so many of you caught the oversight!!!!! Comments of an ex-master chef. KLW

You can absolutely cook beef like this. Why could you not? You don’t have to turn meat and churn it for it to be cooked. It just has to come to an internal temperature of at least 135 longer for less pink. But once it reaches that internal temperature in the middle with a temperature probe it’s perfectly safe to eat. Yes cooking like this will make the tortilla greasy but as long as you get it that temp it’s fine. You could do the meat like a pancake first then drain then add tortilla. But you can cook it like he did with the right temp. You learn the more years you cook.

The concept and arrangements seems very interesting 👌BUT I am afraid this method only gives us steamed meat and raw onions in it ‼️ One of the very first thing we learn in culinary School is “ No colour No flavour “ in order to achieve this goal we need Maillard reaction products (MRPs), chemical reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars to create melanoidins, the compounds which give the meat a distinctive flavour and unique colour also improve the umami taste, overall taste, and mouthfeel of peptides. So I would sauté and cook the minced mixture ( also browned onions not raw ) and do the rest of layering.

Yes, I agree with you! First, that's not high enough or long enough to cook that much raw beef safely and second of all, what happens when you cook beef? Yup, you get a layer of fat and grease which the bottom tortilla will sop up essentially making it a fat sponge (mmm yummy 🤤😉😅😭😳) I do likes the creativity and I see where they're going with this but id have to atleast mostly pre cook the beef and THOROUGHLY drain the fat. I would probably also make a burger sauce to either spread on/in it or to serve on the side to dip it in....but that's just me lol

Brown the beef first! Drain the juice, transfer to bowl then assemble this and cook with the tortilla and cheese and second tortilla and tomato and more cheese. Also could just ditch the tortilla, add cooked drained seasoned beef (paprika, chili powder, cumin or just pepper and salt if you don’t want as much flavour from spices) to washed and dried lettuce (chop up then rinse the lettuce in colander and spin in salad spinner is fastest way) then add chopped tomato and some cheese, if needed add some salsa, sour cream, avocado. Less risk of the meat not being cooked properly! ❤

Okay, so I just re-watched this video. I see this video as a summarization of this dish, rather than a “step-by-step” instruction . The author has prepared the video for people with knowledge of preparing and cooking meals (instead of the multitude of haters that have made such incredibly ridiculous comments about this video). 1) He says “add the prepared meat. He does NOT say add the “uncooked or raw” meat. It appears to me in the video that the meat mixture MAY have been cooked or browned to a degree. Myself, I can use my brain and decide to cook or brown the meat mixture first or not. 2) He does not say how long or on what heat level to cook the dish. Once again, he assumes those watching this video have some cooking knowledge/experience and are able to discern and cook this dish to appropriate doneness. Do any of you haters own a meat thermometer? It’s obvious to me that I would cook this dish over a low heat on the cooktop (in order to cook the meat without burning the tortilla, yet giving the time for the tortilla to brown and crisp, with the help of the butter in the bottom). After turning the mixture over, I would continue cooking the dish over low heat long enough for the meat to be completely cooked and the bottom tortilla browned and crisp. By letting it cook uncovered, it keeps the top tortilla from becoming soggy. After cooking for a period of time, I would use my meat thermometer to check the doneness of the meat and then add the tomatoes and cheese and cover to melt the cheese. 3) The egg mixture poured over the mixture helps (just as in meatloaf, homemade stuffing, and many other dishes) to keep the dish from falling apart. The whole problem with all of these negative comments is that most of these people do not have the brain/skills to take an idea and prepare and cook it properly. Too many people eat out, eat fast food, or buy heavily processed foods to stick in the microwave for 2-3 minutes or in the oven for 10-15 minutes. So, I advise most of you haters to stop pretending you have any knowledge or understanding of the process of preparing and cooking a dish or of this video and (unless you are willing to learn to cook) continue purchasing your heavily processed foods that are slowly killing your brain cells!
