Why? Men in real life do the same. My cousins soon to be ex-husband cheated on her multiple times, and he's been prolonging the divorce because he thinks she's going to take him back. He was literally living a double life. He cant have kids. Hw thought she would suffer without him. She makes slightly more than him still, low six figures.
