The European style of warfare was not optimal on the new battlefields of North America. Aboriginal allies soon taught the colonists their style of guerilla warfare. These tactics would sadly soon be used against them. The Battle of Mount Hope would see the defeat of the Wampanoag and Narragansett peoples. But the war for the northeast was soon to reach a fever pitch. The Wabanaki Confederacy ruled modern-day Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and would surrender their rightful homeland quietly.

My back yard is actually a Wampanoag burial ground. There was a large excavation done in the late 70s which even found a princess buried. * also, my greatX13 grandfather, Edward Bobet (my last name has changed to Babbitt over 400 years due to illiteracy lol) was scalped by an Indian war party during the king Philip war. There’s a stone marker to this day in the location he was killed. All bc his wife made him go home to get something called a cheese hoop. Brought his trusty dog, but in the way back to the fort in Taunton he heard the war party coming and climbed a tree to hide… until his dog barked up the tree and gave away his location. I love history lol

This era in American history is often romanticized in novels... Living and surviving was a constant “battle”...of one kind or another... 🇺🇸❤️💝

I'm sure there were some instances when people had a good life back then, some elite did at least. I talk about all the troubles they had in early Americas on my channel. It was hard for a lot of people, but there's references to some really nice and kind people that were around at the time.

Why are they having him stand and speak this way? I get that they are trying to present it as coming from an American Indian sitting in a teepee speaking to the white man but it's disjointed and racist. I've tried to watch this series and the history is interesting but forcing the dude to trot out how white people think American Indians speak is embarassing.

Ugh, this is an interesting topic, unfortunately it's a typical american docu, with constant repeats of the same stuff, an overdly dramatical presenter, and with the depth of a puddle. A 5 min docu stretched out over 20. No thx, if anyone can link me to a decent docu about this feel free, but this crap i'm not watching.

What do you mean by typical American documentary?
@capusvacans
@capusvacans 10 ай бұрын
@@AngryNegativeHistoryProject Uhm, i explained it in that comment itself... try reading it. And yes, it's typicaly american, look at any european docus and you won't find the constant repeating of information, no overdramatic presenter etc; I guess it has to do with how adds are run on tv in the us compared to europe; here the add breaks are longer, but much more spread out. So our docu aren't formated in such a way that they allow for adds to constantly interupt it Often there won't even be any breaks. And the presenters sensationalising everything, i guess that's an american thing aswell, our presenters sound more like university professors instead of an action movie narrator. I just get bummed out by a docu that constantly repeats itself, as each repetition means less new facts being introduced.
