LCA is a deravative of MIG21 only with imported parts.. there is no comparison with JF17.

Desi indi govt officials are to blame 20yr delays..when were supposed to buy 125 rafale jet..they try to over bargain Dassault..and tech transfer..now neither can they get new advanced jet due to engines in short supply ..plus cost of rafale jets have shot up 2x.short sighted planning..when u have 2 enemies on border and next Bangladesh...

Nope it won't make india panic because by then Pakistan would be tottering under debt servicing, ultimately becoming a complete stooge of Chinese or say servant of communist party of China. India already knows this and is preparing for it by being not too much dependent on imported weapons, inching slowly but steadily towards self reliance in this sector as much as humanely possible.

India has been trying to go independent in arms for the past 40 years. So far it hasn’t succeeded, and it doesn’t look like it will considering the failure of the tejas. India does not produce anything locally in defence, you’ve just shifted your reliance from only Russia, to Russia and the west.

@@haroonshahid5545 At least we are progressing ahead albeit slowly,much slower than we would have liked,but in that process we are enhancing our capacity and capabilities. Engine especially jet engine is a niche technology only truly mastered by 4 companies with true next generation engines namely P&W , GE from USA, RR from GB and Safran from France. So to be in that club in itself is a challange,even Chinese with so much of budget and economic might has not been able to make a reliable world class engine.That being said we will reach that stage sooner or later given our human resource and varied world class institutions of academic excellence. What does your country sell to the world, textiles that too soon enough will be a gone sector with advent of artificial intelligence and IoT intelligent machines.

@@haroonshahid5545 The engine is already made with a thrust capacity of 81 kn which is close to the F404 engine currently on Tejas.Its just the core technology that needs a further refinement. This was expected of someone from a country where technical institutes are no where near world class standard.Every fighter program world over is a continuous running program aimed at further refining the product adapting it to new challenges. Case and point being the F-16 and F-15 and their latest iterations.So we will reach their for sure where we intend to be,just it will take time,as earlier we were not having money in the early ninetees then in later half were under sanctions so delays were quite but natural.Just like we were denied Cray super computers in the 1990 , we went on to develop our own down the line, later on as a result of it we were able to provide and produce world class software engineers.
